The Infowars news is funny, yes. But more importantly, it is an outright rebuke of Alex Jones' evil.

It's testament to the strength and resilience of the Sandy Hook families who survived this bullshit for more than a decade as well as the Onion, which didn't give up on this for the last 18 months.

It’s absolutely incredible that one of the largest Japanese-run Go servers, which has been running since 1992, is still accessed entirely via Telnet. And while most players use GUI clients that use Telnet under the hood, you can still connect manually and get ASCII graphics streamed to you

Re: nostalgia for VHS tapes and other analog media, I saw someone say like "a VHS tape never sold my information to a nazi" and yes that's true! But the reason it's true is actually because Congress passed a law in 1988 specifically making it illegal for video stores to sell your rental history

I still crack up anytime I'm driving and see an "Old ..." road, because I once had a moment of moderate dyslexia and read "Old Sappho-Pysht Highway" as "Old Sappho-Physt Highway" and thought "Wow, why don't that just call it old lesbian road?".

Did I mention that it's just after Beaver Lake?

We thought we were living in a cyberpunk dystopia but this is actually straight from Warhammer 40K. The machine spirit must be appeased using the proper rituals. Blessings affixed with purity seals will keep the cogitator functioning.

So, the connector itself is a USB forum standard, but the name 'Type E' is where it's just de facto. Where things get weird is when you're talking about the 20 pin or 40 pin version, as the 20pin is generally a more compact USB3 header, but the 40 pin is for dual USB-C front panel connectors.

For comparison, the JCPOA ('Iran Deal') payment that everyone in MAGA excoriates was $1.7bn.

The $2m-per-ship toll regime on the Strait would generate at normal traffic something like $40bn *each year* for Iran (120 ships per day at $2m per split 50/50 with Oman).

Two pictures of the pillsbury dough boy: once is on a purple background with the caption “he is risen! happy Easter!”, and the other is tan and brown, similar to a cracker, on a white background saying “he is not! Happy Passover!”

At this point, you can basically just use these announcements to remind you when futures markets are opening in Asia.

I will die on the hill that it's inappropriate to call Easter "Zombie Jesus Day."

Zombie is not a generic term for undead - it has a specific meaning. We HAVE a generic term for beings who have returned compos mentis from death in their original, physical bodies: Revenants.

I guess it's 'relevant' today to recommend that for folks who haven't seen it, "The Long Good Friday" is an absolutely incredible neo-noir movie set against a backdrop of The Troubles (released in 1980!) with Bob Hoskins and Helen Miram and a couple scenes with Pierce Brosnan in his debut role

Funkiest QFN I have seen to date. Radar send and receive and digital measurement in the same chip and no external antennas needed! All of those perimeter vias are straight to the ground plane. This was from a board we assembled for a customer last year.

Civil Justice Reform Act Report Gives data for civil cases in the district courts, by judicial officer, on motions pending more than six months, bench trials submitted more than six months, civil cases pending more than three years,...

Fun fact: If you ever find yourself thinking, "wow there sure are a lot of federal court rulings today," the odds are decent that the day is March 31 or September 30
