Today's demonstration against the illegal US and Israeli attacks on Iran is about to begin. Rally will be at the US Embassy, where we'll be calling for an end to the nuclear hypocrisy and for Keir Starmer to stop allowing the use of British bases. #NoWarOnIran
☮️Merton Peace Coalition/CND held a fantastically well-attended meeting to discuss 'How to Stop the Global War Machine', at William Morris House in Wimbledon.

🌸Free Palestine! No War on Venezuela! Hands off Cuba! No nuclear war! @londonregioncnd.bsky.social
This is an enormous victory for the Palestinian solidarity movement, for civil liberties and for our common humanity.
The real crime is this government’s complicity in genocide - and we will not rest until we have justice for the Palestinian people.
The Prime Minister says he changed the Labour Party.
He's right. He changed it from a party of principle, workers and peace, to a party of patronage, the establishment and war.
Poverty, corruption and complicity in genocide. That will be his government's legacy.
Picture of Doomsday Clock pushed forward to 85 seconds to midnight
1/2 The #DoomsdayClock being pushed closer to midnight is a warning of the devastating consequences of continued nuclear expansion. Nuclear weapons don't keep us safe. They hold the entire world to ransom. They cannot be part of any civilised so-called defence policy....
Map with CND logo showing the 18 locations where US military bases are located in Britain. Text reads: Shut down US bases. Kick out Trump's nukes.
It's shocking the number of US military bases in Britain. These bases put Britain on the frontline in Trump's reckless global wars. It's time to shut down US bases and kick out Trump's nuclear weapons. Britain needs an independent foreign policy without nuclear weapons!
Graphic with CND logo, image of Trident D5 missile and the following text: Myth: Britain's nuclear weapons system is independent. Reality: It's tied to the U.S. at every level. Britain’s nuclear weapons exist because of a nuclear-sharing deal with the US - signed in 1958 - The Mutual Defence Agreement (MDA). Under Starmer, that deal was extended indefinitely, leaving British security tied to decisions of a US President and NATO, not the British government.

Graphic with CND logo and Vanguard-class sumabrine with the following text: The bottom line: It's time to scrap Britain's nuclear weapons.
Britain's nuclear weapons are:
🚀 Based on US design
🌎 Leased from the US
🪖 Under NATO command
They aren't independent.

Campaigners stand on Whitehall next to Downing Street gates. One holds up a letter addressed to the Prime Minister and other hold CND placards that read "Stop British nuke jets." Two are wearing Donald Trump and Keir Starmer masks while holding cardboard nuclear missiles.
Thanks to all our anti-nuclear allies who joined us outside Downing Street to call on Keir Starmer to rethink Britain's F-35A purchase.
We'll be demonstrating against these nuke jets at RAF Marham on 28 February.

Headline from article in The Guardian newspaper with an image of an F-35A fighter jet. text reads: "Fighter jets purchase would put UK in breach of nuclear treaty, says CND. Legal opinion for campaign group says deal amounts to reversal of UK’s commitment to nuclear disarmament"
Today is the International Day for the Total Elimination of Nuclear Weapons. Britain should be marking it with ambitious steps to further the cause of nuclear disarmament. Instead, we see yet another breach of international law by Starmer.

Despite the British government's attempts to stifle and suppress peaceful protest, today saw yet another huge show of support for Palestine on the streets of London. This movement will not be silenced. We demand sanctions on genocidal Israel now!

Congratulations to all receiving results today. The hard work and effort of students, teachers and those supporting them should be commended.🙌
Asked about the biggest threats to the UK, cyber attacks top the poll, though the youngest adults are more likely to be worried about nuclear conflict with another country. A plurality think our defence spending is about right, though 26% say too little and 21% too much.
