In the second scrimmage, I just played blocker. But I made my intentions clear, the goal is to play pivot in the A/B scrims.
It would be well into the second scrimmage when I felt like I was playing better. In the first scrimmage, I played the jammer twice, and it felt like I played an equal amount of pivot and blocker.
So, my focus was a little divided in that game. Fortunately, I had 2 other experienced skaters keeping an eye on them. Note to self, step back from skating if I’m giving feedback to someone again. 💜
Tuesday night’s @jetcityrollerderby scrimmages was a little rough getting started but for all the best reasons. I had offered to give feedback to skaters on the C team and three skaters took me up on it, Max Damage, Tamagotchi, add Lab Brat.
Transphobia is a fucking issue.

I was frequently the pivot and spent a few jams just blocking. For the record, I was jammer for two jams—because I went to the box—and I even had a scoring pass.
I got to skate with Bad Habit Barbie, who I’ve admired for a while.
“Remember the last time i was here,” I said to the penalty box manager, “and I said there was still time to foul out? Yeah, that was a joke!” That was my 5th penalty of the game.
I had such a fun time having my ass handed to me at the #InlandEmpireRollerDerby
as I skated with my beloved #DivergenceRollerDerby. We lost spectacularly! 257 to 75!
So far, I’m okay and no signs of a concussion.
Over all, I am super proud my C Team skaters who got to skate last night. They were fantastic!!
Last night’s @jetcityrollerderby scrimmage was a lot of fun. I played a lot pivot and blocking. I even had a scoring turn as a jammer. I scored 7 points before the jam was called for my add getting a factory reset by Moose. I came down hard and my head bounced off the hardwood.

• Review the video Freight Train made me of her shoulder hits from Jammer at 180+ and practice those hits
• Practice getting my hand out of the way

• Work on hockey stops (in some place where they don’t magically become power slides! 😂🤣😭😭)
This is something I’ve worked on and to have it pop up again tells me I have work to do.
Fine, let’s turn that anger into motion and work on it.
If there’s a silver lining here it’s that I played good enough derby that I became a target. That’s a positive, right? Yep, let’s run with that.

Let’s talk about that last game of #RollerCon for me, Are You Afraid of the Dawn vs. All That, and I’m still mad. Not at losing the game or at any of the players or officials. I’m mad at myself for allowing myself to be baited.
#RollerCon2025 has come to a close. I played in 9 games, my teams won 5 of those. I watched 3 games and took 3 classes. I played all three positions and so much pivot, so much time in my happy place. I am a happy skater! I even jammed a few times complete with scoring passes.
Sitting down to watch some derby, The Lord of the Rings vs. Star Trek. I feel sorry for any of if TOS skaters, this away mission is gonna be brutal. 🤣😂
