The Storyteller's Daughter is on a special Kindle deal at the moment - part of their Bestsellers of 2025 promo (which is mad to even write.)
Remember that you can gift people Kindle books, too - just select 'Gift this ebook' on the right-hand side.

What a novel!!! @toryscott.bsky.social you’ve done it again. Read it in one go on a plane. Thank you thank you. Desperately want to discuss it on podcast now if anyone wants to volunteer.
One of the many things I love about my husband is that he's watching Nobody Wants This with me and is actually enjoying it

I know there's a lot going on in the world at the moment but those who lived through 9/11 will never forget what happened that day, and nor should we.
This quote is on a huge screen at the memorial museum in NYC & I remember reading it & sobbing.
What will survive of us is love.
I left it in the beautiful church there. Instead of going back to get it, however, I've chosen to see this as a serendipitous opportunity to gift it to someone before publication - whether it's a visitor, a priest, someone cleaning the church - who knows. I'm quite glad, in a way.
The House on the Cliff is out in a month! It's up for pre-order everywhere, including Amazon. Order here: amzn.to/467TLkU
It's another historical gothic mystery, this time set in beautiful Cornwall.
Fun fact: I took the book to Gunwalloe Cove in Cornwall last week to take this pic and lost it.
Perfect holiday read. Thank you @toryscott.bsky.social what a brilliant story (though I empathised far too much with Beth’s marital situation which was both affirming to be “seen” and also a bit unexpectedly unsettling).
Sorry to hear that. It was based on a friend's real life divorce. It was important to me that I captured it as well as I could. I hope you're doing ok x
I am so excited to reveal the cover of my next novel, The House on the Cliff, which will be published worldwide on October 4th in all formats by @BoldwoodBooks.

Ooh, the hardback of The Storyteller's Daughter is only slightly more than £10 on Amazon at the moment - almost the same price as the paperback.
If you fancy one, walk this way...

I've just been on holiday, but checked my Goodreads author account today and nearly 2000 people added The Storyteller's Daughter on July 23rd.
It must have been mentioned somewhere prominent. Anyone know where?
I've just spotted that the UK paperback of The Storyteller's Daughter is currently discounted at just £9.99 on Amazon. Worth buying now if you have it on your wishlist or intend to give it as a present (it's usually £12.99.)

My new phone case is making some big promises
So thank you, all of you! Your support means a great deal to me and I promise to keep writing uplifting, interesting books full of human kindness for as long as you will let me.
And every time they message me, comment on a post or leave a review, I feel incredibly grateful. Every author has bad days and it's a very unpredictable industry, but hearing from readers who love a book you've put your heart and soul into is THE BEST THING.
So now, when people write a review and say something like "I'm a fan of Victoria's work" it's a phrase that they probably give little thought to, but it makes me jump for joy.
It's amazing to me that there are people out there, people I don't know, who love my writing.
Something I wasn't prepared for when I became a writer was the possibility of actually having 'fans.' That sounds ridiculous I suppose because that's probably what every author dreams of, but I never really allowed myself to think I'd ever have any.
My lovely proofreader is reading my next novel (due in November) which means it's ALMOST DONE.
Breaking news on this is that my mum is reading it and loves it, so it's going to be ok, fellas
It's amazing to have this happen five novels into my writing career.
A good example, should you need one, that success very rarely happens overnight. Sometimes, persistence wins the day.
The Storyteller's Daughter has been in the Amazon top 100 for a week.
I don't even care that it's half term and raining.

This will never get old. Well, it might for you. I promise it won't for me!
The Storyteller's Daughter is a bestseller in multiple Amazon categories at the moment.
It's pretty cool to top the WW2 fiction list, I've got to say.
My daughter came home glowing today because the teacher who runs her reading club after school had told the whole group that she's reading (and loving) my new novel.
Going to try to remember this when she's a teenager and finding me embarrassing...
The Storyteller's Daughter is a double bestseller in the USA kindle charts.
What a great way to start the weekend.
