Trump says it should be up to the states to fund such programs. How many states could remotely afford that? They will have to raise existing taxes or create new ones to do so. And there it is, you will be paying new/higher state taxes while paying the same federal taxes.
It’s cute that MAGA believe that if Medicare, Medicaid and Social Security goes away their taxes will drop accordingly. No, we’ll just be taxed the same but won’t have those programs. That’s the goal, to take those tax dollars to cover the exploding deficit and never satiated war machine.
