I wanted to take some of the default origin stories but keep them not super-duper specific. The main story beats remain the same but each 'retcon' has a different take on it.

My mental catalog is embarrassingly slim right now. I've been so focused on my own work that I haven't done much exploration outside of that. It's something I'm working to correct, but I hope it's understandable.

I do a lot of research. I try to find slang from the time, meals from the time, and the conversation of money from the time. I try to find out how they spoke and how they managed everyday things. I use all that and then throw in as much WEIRD STUFF as the story can handle.
Came up with a new idea in the shower. I like it and I think it'll be fun. Gonna write it out and put it for free and totally available on my Patreon because making ANY money off of it would likely be violating trademark like crazy and I ain't about the 'getting my ass sued to death' life quite yet.

This week, I'm gonna be engaging with a new DnD group which is extremely exciting.
My 'give a shit' battery is at 2% today. I can't bring myself to care about ANYTHING I'm seeing online and that's my cue to step away, focus on writing and music, and ignore the constant stream of news and information demanding my immediate and full attention.
It'll be cults and lead right into serial killers and I have to break away from either of those in my work because I feel like I overuse both ideas way too often.
I need to take a hard left turn away from a deep dive into cult stuff on Wikipedia because that is a DEEP rabbit hole and I want to actually write stuff that ISN'T cult-related. That would be counter-productive.
