With shade in the summer!!!

I'm incredibly excited about this, but it doesn't engender confidence that the survey asks 10,000 questions about parking access but hardly anything about transit access & nothing at all about bike parking or bike trail access
Just please don't make us walk our kids thru a parking lot to the door
It's very condescending, and gratuitously so. You can think that and simply choose not to say it!
I would read the shit out of that novel tbh
(it's less fun in real life)
tired: its the Department of Defense (est. 1947)
hired: its the War Department (1789-1947)
wired: we're bringing back rum rations, handsaw amputations, trench foot, latrines made of pure cholera, and other manly things of that nature
It seems like they're not running their drafts by people on a broad range of sides, which is surprising to me
(I would like to see this conflict deescalated, personally. I would be glad to help! Don't they have friends who can help by giving feedback on their drafts???)
And the "too cold to walk home" fear is based on a time I got this badly wrong 😬
(We fled to Seward Coop and warmed up there for a while, then took the bus home, very late for nap)
No, it has a skating rink but no warming house
Heh. You're welcome!
YES!! It's a problem about needing the bathroom and also just needing a place to warm up.
It's a half mile to the nearest real park (Seward's Matthews Park) and I would like to be able to frolic in the snow without risking my kid being too cold before we start the walk home.
ASA/sociology inside baseball:
I don't think the sentence
"We also understand that there is some frustration about the limits of what our association can do to influence global challenges."
is going to do what its authors hoped, in a message clearly intended to deescalate the internal conflict
I’m so glad. It really is an incredible class of drug! It makes me feel so hopeful about medicine (at a time when we’re suffering so many losses due to canceled research).
But what was the university wearing?
It would be nice if, at a moment when academia is under brutal assault from outside forces that are opposed to the very core of its mission, academics weren't so obsessed with self-flagellation.
Huge news: Jordan Acker, who infamously pushed state to prosecute UM student protestors, loses bid for re-election to UM Regents. The winner: Amir Makled, who provided pro bono legal support to those same UM students. Enormous victory for the Palestine/student solidarity movement.
Is it bad that my commentary on an article spelled its author's name wrong each and every time?
(Don't worry, I caught it right before uploading my revision. And ~*~hopefully~*~ the copyeditor would've caught it after that...)

The City of Minneapolis, evicting 48 of the poorest families in its care, for a total of $30,144.

Thank you so much!!
Contrast to how civilians put themselves in true danger for each other within minutes during the ICE raids these past couple months.
It’s just heartbreaking.
Scholars & organizers: consider submitting a proposal for this special issue of @jhppl.bsky.social. Community organizing has transformative possibilities. It should be studied, understood, discussed, and highlighted as a core democratic practice. This special issue does part of that work. Submit!
I would greatly appreciate anyone amplifying this or contributing.
The Alex Pretti nursing scholarship is being created. An endowed scholarship awarded to a student with financial need. Preference will be given to students with an interest in supporting America's veterans. Link below. Thank you.
I totally support you! I just don’t support people acting like Laura did something wrong when she protected her kids from violence.
product image from amazon where one of the answers is "to be fully transparent as an AI"
Help I found this journal on amazon and the prompts in the image were clearly filled out by AI
Would you have, while walking your kids to school? Or would you have focused on keeping them safe?
Shocked by the ending of the Pitt's season 2 finale, in which Robby takes over a popular but struggling Italian beef sandwich joint in Chicago.
