this is where I'm at with this year's version of the Mets. they're done. so should Stearns & Mendoza.

watching the Mets:
if I'm Soto, I'm using this as leverage to demand a trade away from this factory of sadness & misery.
GOD. FUCKING. DAMN. IT. #LGM
FIRE STEARNS. FIRE MENDOZA. this team is dogshit. at least the 1962 Mets were an expansion team, what's this team's excuse?
green shoots? the only green shoots Steve Cohen is seeing are the ones from the casino he's building, which is the only thing he cares about.
god. fucking. damn. it. #LGFM

I mostly use it on desktop but here’s an iOS screenshot
if Tiger doesn’t go nuts & injures himself doing weird SEAL-style workouts, he eclipses Nicklaus.
regardless: his 2000-01 run settled the debate.
it’s the one place I’d move back to.
This was revelatory for me because I've never heard of a woman being lauded in the context of AIDS drug expertise. I've only heard about genius white guys.
Iris Long was the woman who taught ACT-UP and who initiated what became ACT UP’s famous treatment and data committee.
oh I am lamenting you better believe this
point guard who played at St Anthony's, now comes off the bench for Seton Hall & snipes treys
every time i see the take "bluesky is down because they used AI" i replace "used AI" with "verified jerry" and it works just as well. 100% cause and effect
I'm bummed I can't see the blocked message LOL
folks, I think Clay Holmes might be washed. #LGM
yes, same here. I started studying it in depth this past year as I finished school & hoo boy howdy, it's *so complex*. it was horrifyingly fascinating to me :-)
& like, whatevs, someone gabbling like me on here doesn't really matter. but if you're staff? you're an elected? sorry, the bar's a bit higher there, bubba.
moreover, knowing this shit cold is how you properly manage this & enforce civilian authority!
there's tons of examples like that. I guarantee you that none, & I mean *none* of our faves have spent a single solitary second thinking about that. which, fine, whatever. but it also means that whenever I hear someone on our side tout "we gotta cut DOD" as a panacea, I know they're not serious.
1 example: DOD schools are 1 of the largest school systems around, IIRC. let's say we start chopping at the budget; hard to cut without those cuts affecting that part of the budget. You need DOD schools; local schools aren't necessarily equipped to properly educate SM fams with their unique needs.
I'm not sure that I grant the argument that you need career experience in DOD/IC/mil contractor (that's a separate thing!), but you do need to understand that things aren't as simple as "cutting the defense budget" & using that as a vehicle to fund things we prefer funding. I'm not even a hawk!
useful thread. way, but I mean *way* *too* *many* people on the left just don't grok that the Pentagon is *the world's largest bureaucracy*, & everything that flows from that fact.
this has a ton of 2nd/3rd/4th/&c effects. if you want to discuss governance seriously, this is elementary knowledge.
and that was in a normal political environment, which 2027/28 will not be in any way.
Wins at the Estadio Azteca in 2026:
Mexico national team - 0
Club América - 0
Cruz Azul - 0
Nashville SC - 1
holy fucking shit Nashville FC did the thing #CCL
well, that was a gut punch. oh well. #LGM
one of those fundamental changes *has* to be Congress (and here I mean the House, & to a lesser degree the Senate) reasserting itself in a major way.
this is a mid-season level pitcher's duel in MID-APRIL. this is *filthy*.
solid thread. maybe I might have some quibbles on the margins, but it's uncomfortably true & it's a huge reason why I decided to go back to school & become credentialed in the field.
why can’t that be us
