😨 Angst ist eine starke Emotion. In der Terra X-Doku „Das Zeitalter der Angst“ erklärt Harald Lesch, wie wir Angst beherrschen können. Dafür begleitet er Psychologe und Psychotherapeut @hpcrstn.bsky.social vom Institut für Psychologie an der UHH bei einem Experiment zur Angstreaktion des Menschen.

Thrilled to have participated in the @rtg2753.bsky.social Summer School last week! Against a beautiful lake backdrop, I presented a poster on a project from the CPN lab @uni-hamburg.de lead by @anjariesel.bsky.social. The work explores experimental design choices when measuring the startle reflex.

We mapped neural error processing across 7 major mental disorders using EEG data from over 10,000 participants.

(3/3) We induced state uncertainty using a novel experimental uncertainty symptom induction. Momentary changes in state uncertainty did not significantly change ERN/CRN from pre to post intervention, further questioning the link between IU and the ERN in a subclinical sample.

(2/3) In a collapsed sample of N = 355 students, we found no cross-sectional links of intolerance of uncertainty or it’s subconstructs on the ERN and could not replicate previous findings.
