How anti-abortion protests on campus are affecting students at Mount Royal University “As someone who has had an abortion, it feels like a judgement on all women who have had to make that choice,” said Abbey Oviatt, a student at Mount Royal University.  Pro-life supporters fill Moun…

Mount Royal University administration claims that “Campus spaces are legally considered public, and demonstrators are exercising their constitutionally-protected right to freedom of expression.” So what's next, a neo-Nazi or KKK demo? Or is it only women's and trans rights that are up for debate.

Carney's ‘big tent’ makes room for bigotry By welcoming Marilyn Gladu into its ranks, Mark Carney tests how much Liberal voters will accept to hold and expand power

Christo Aivalis: "...the Liberals DO have values, namely the empowerment of the capitalist class. All other things are up for negotiation and compromise. This is why the Liberals are rebuilding the anti-abortion wing of their party."

It's occasionally possible for anti-choice people to genuinely become pro-choice after an experience or gaining insight, but we doubt Marilyn Gladu is one of them. Changing your views on human rights in order to switch parties smells like crass political opportunism.

She travelled 900 km for an abortion. Years later, Quebec access issues remain urgent | CBC News Rose Gervais was about 12 weeks pregnant with her third child in 2023 when she had to travel from Gaspé, Que., to Montreal for an abortion. She should have been able to get the procedure done much closer, in Quebec City, but doctors say delays in getting appointments combined with limited capacity are pushing people to seek help even farther.

Quebec City is notorious for having long waiting periods and delays in getting appointments for abortions, says Dr. Geneviève Bois, an abortion provider in Montreal. While the province has “excellent abortion access in general," there are access issues especially for procedural abortion.

Thank you Leah Gazan for pointing out that Marilyn Gladu is ANTI-CHOICE. She voted for last 3 Conservative anti-abortion bills since 2016. Also, previous Conservative floor crossers Matt Jeneroux, Michael Ma, and Chris d’Entremont are designated as anti-choice by ARCC. Does Mark Carney even care?

Anti-abortion protest leaves many unsettled Students push back against graphic anti-abortion display at North campus.

Students deserve to feel safe at school.

Campuses like Humber College cannot be places where anti-abortion groups are free to spread misinformation about healthcare — especially when those messages disproportionately harm women, trans, and non-binary people.

How a case about secularism in a Canadian province could affect the country as a whole Quebec's law to regulate religious symbols goes to the Supreme Court in a constitutional test case.

The court should strike down the Notwithstanding clause!! It was included in the Charter under conservative pressure and its only purpose is to CANCEL your Charter rights for political reasons. When provinces use it, they are violating the Charter even while they're required to uphold it.
