I am a writer. Unpublished, unaccomplished. Don't take my advice but...
If the two options are "writing some words" and "writing no words" then quality and quantity are not part of the conversation. Ignore them until "writing some words" is the baseline and go from there.
The mission is Evacuation/Uplink Center. If you can, bring a list for both. If you don't have the gear for Evacuation, just bring an Uplink Center list.
This event is both new player and experienced player friendly.

Whether you like LP or CM, or a blend of either, do what works for you. Sometimes I see someone painting with CM and I yearn for it, but whenever I remember the hassle of acquiring and maintaining a huge collection compared to how freeing a LP is to me, I abide and am content.

The biggest drawback of a LP is that most paint lines aren't appropriate for it. I need single pigment paints with no added white for opacity. Most hobby paints are not this.
Kimera is an example, but I also can't easily replace single paints, which is causing me stress.

For example, this large model, a TAG from #infinitythegame by @corvusbelli.bsky.social was broken down into sections, with the main red colour painted on each section in a session. The reds may be slightly different, but not noticeably.

Still, mixing is the downside of the LP. There's a reason common advice says to always mix more paint than you think you need. Ideally, I paint one colour on a model in a single session. It's easier, but sometimes not possible and only slightly more difficult.

Alternatively, within the gamut of my LP, I can just mix whatever colour I wish. Mixing is a skill, but it is neither as hard as people think nor as difficult to acquire. You get to see, in real time, the effects of mixing so you can just learn it as you go.

The biggest downside, and the thing that keeps me away every time I consider abandoning my LP ways, is the expense and hassle of maintaining a collection of colours which allow CM painting.
If I see a colour I like on another mini or in life, I have to find 3 paints to buy to paint it.

One downside is that consistency can be boring. Every blue you paint will be exactly the same. This can be mitigated, as Mr. Giraldez shows, by glazing in some other colours to add variety. So really, not a downside, just something you should consider and a step that also benefits LP.

The advantages of CM is you can put paint on the palette and get started right away. Excluding batch variations, the colour from each bottle will be consistent any time you use them. They call them Convenience Mixes because they really are convenient.
