I just contacted my representatives about the nomination of RFK, Jr and the recent executive orders. Here is what I wrote in my email or said to the staffer on the phone:

I am writing/calling on several topics:
The taxpayers, through Federal NIH funding, have literally invested tens of millions of dollars in my education & career. This is a privledge, & I have always endevored to give my best back to the taxpayers who put me here
I am just one of many thousands of scientists who can tell the same story

Specifically, I am calling regarding HHS and the National Institutes of Health, including the indefinite suspension of council review meetings, review section, and travel. PSA for cat owners in the US: cats have been contracting H5N1 (bird flu). They are very susceptible to it and the fatality rate for cats is 67%. To avoid it:
-keep your cats indoors. They can catch it from infected birds and mice.
-do not feed them raw dairy
-do not feed them raw meat
