He was kind to new writers & experienced writers too. Ran various indie mags: Revolution John, Enclave, and others. He published a couple of my early stories in both. Wonderful person. A writers writer. More concerned with the work than the hoopla surrounding it.

It sucks Sheldon passed. I know he had health issues but he was a young guy. A year younger than me.

I moved to KY last Jan, had him on my radar for a meet up. We didn't talk much last couple of yrs bc of the downfall of X, & that was his preferred social. An exceptional writer & a solid human RIP

I read a bunch by Sallis: DRIVE; DRIVEN; WORLD'S EDGE; others. Never read this one

James Sallis is a favorite, highly original. The guy wrote everything: crime, poetry, sci fi, literary, dystopian, etc.

My favorite writers are often versatile.

Read this fantastic French noir, FATALE, 2 yrs ago. Waiting on my next book haul to arrive, so I randomly snatched this up for a reread. Amazing cover art.

Read it last year. One of his best IMO

Curtis is a good dude, & this is a solid novel. A lot of fun. Give it a read.
