Cerulean - Danny L Harle
Finishing up with some more hyperpop courtesy of producer/songwriter Danny L Harle calling in some favours from a fabulous list of contemporaries to create a star-studded missive of trancey goodness. youtu.be/6s72AHV2cfU?...
To Whom It May Concern -Jill Scott
A contender for Comeback of 2026, Jill Scott returns after more than a decade away on irrepressible form, a "never-left" treat that rewards her listeners with a veritable feast of every emotional hue her resplendent voice has to offer. youtu.be/Wr0e0zCwUB0?...
Love Is Not Enough - Converge
Album 1 Of (?) in 2026 from the hardcore metallers is one of those "exactly what it says on the tin" jobs, offering plenty of ribald rage and force to help anyone assuage their inner fire-and-brimstone with appropriately screamey catharsis. youtu.be/qxelfxGa2oo?...
Pieni Exit - Malla
If you like your post-disco Scandipop with all manner of bouncy and housey after-hours lushness that tows the line exceptionally well between sad-eyed heartbreak and grin-inducing grooves, you cannot go wrong with the latest album from Finland's Malla. youtu.be/paTvwzYTpSE?...
Laughter In Summer - Beverly & Elizabeth Glenn-Copeland
A bittersweet triumph that celebrates a love story for the ages, wherein an otherwise devastating diagnosis solicits a uniquely moving paean that captures the ruminative joy at the centre of its creators' relationship. youtu.be/bKg-TBFSfD0?...
15 Years Of Butter Sessions
Founded by DJ Sleep D, underground label Butter Sessions has been keeping the Asian-Australian connection alive via transportive dub, house and techno for 15 years, and you'd do well to check out either of the three compendiums out now. youtu.be/KGoZc0CA6JE?...
Exchequer - Proc Fiskal
For the Best Extended Play nod, please welcome Edinburgh-based duo Proc Fiskal, whose latest release manages to mix folk, R&B, grime and hyperpop-infused IDM to deliver an incredibly sweet calling card to refer to when they get that much bigger. youtu.be/rCTCpJSVzNY?...
Baisée - Charlène Dannancier
Out of what I missed in January, Dannancier's essay of deathy sensuality was certainly the most disconcertingly breath-taking, all doomy bass rumbles and disconcerting moans soundtracking a particularly existential crisis of horniness. youtu.be/4erk7Y9bhp8?...
If you're done lamenting that which is done these days in the name of unquantifiable deities and such though, how about some music to listen to? Specifically from February 2026, because this listening schedule is really handing me my arse this year.
March 2026; Happy Easter, everyone! I guess that's hip to say now that the teachings of Jesus are decidedly too socialist and therefore unfit for the modern world according to the powers that be.
Or did they see you?? 👀
Kermit got possessed by Twin Peaks’ BOB and he’s still warm and lovely; what a guy!
Still not as daft as the crew on the Covenant…
Sometimes to get to work I have to travel through Canary Wharf and a few years ago they did an installation called Nature Rising which is still there and I am reminded of Tessa Thompson every. single. time… 😢
And no, not seen Ready Or Not 2: Here I Come yet, so cannot comment on alleged similifferences yet. Will let you know when I do 😉
They Will Kill You; a fine bit of splurty mayhem, key influences include Evil Dead 2 for gory goofs and Kill Bill for needle-drop-accelerated fight scenes, but works more like The Raid Vs The People Under The Stairs. Derivative but still a lot of fun if you want to look past that.

It sounds dumb to get this serious over Harry Potter but that’s JKR’s fault for being an out and out fascist piece of shit who has told you over and over again she’s using your money directly to fund her hate groups
Written by Cathy Dennis… what a conflagration!!
And that’s it for February, totally worth it music-wise. X
Ferrem Sidereum - Zu
Anyone left wanting on the pummel-me-into-submission front, you can't go wrong with the Italian avant-jazz-metal trio's latest longform, a monstrous gesture that reaches for the stars and goes harder and grander than any other album so far this year.

Graze The Bell - David Moore
Composer and pianist delivers a spellbinding showcase of ivory-tinkling ambience with his latest solo effort of contemporary classical compositions, creating a perfect underscore to any given mood one could be feeling on every piece.

No Ghosts Go Ghost - By Storm
Producer Parker Corey and wordsmith RiTchie rise out of the mire after losing Injury Reserve co-founder Stepa J. Groggs with a candid debut that essays grief, procrastination and recalcitrance in a head-turning blast of experimental hip hop.

Euphoria Bound - Shackleton
Global-trotting psychedelia enmeshes stirringly with dub-bass-techno signatures on the English producer's latest album, chock full of the type of time-out-from-the-world feels that allow you to get thoroughly and wondrously lost.

No More Like This - PVA
A fine juxtaposition of post-punk poetry, spacey synths and trip-hop ambience is what you will find on the London trio's second LP, at times understatedly thrilling and at others starkly confrontational, but never losing its laser-focused thrall.

Enter The Gamma (Live) - Gesaffelstein
Belgian noisemaker who enjoyed a well-deserved uptick in profile following his collaboration with Lady Gaga last year gives the rest of the listening world an opportunity to dance deep and hard with this propulsive live recording.
