A new hiding spot for baby Marieโฆ
Aquarium Friday ๐ฆ, and I got to see 3 of my favorite aquatic noodles โ Wilson the anaconda, and Thomas and Marie the moray eels.
(Only one video per post here, so Thomas and Marie will be below ๐)
We got to take the Streamflow Duration Assessment Method training in North Carolina this week!
Got some beautiful spring weather and met a lot of critters ๐งช๐ฑ๐ธ๐ฆ
Many of us donโt work directly in space science, but we were inspired to become scientists by NASA. Today was an inspirational day, and I hope Artemis II galvanizes the public to recognize the importance of having a strong science program for our identity, not to mention our security and prosperity.
250 years of NO KINGS here in Boston.
Aquarium Friday! ๐ฆ
Huge news โ we got a SECOND gar skull. The original is named Yorick, so weโll have to keep with our โfamous skullsโ theme for the baby.

Aquarium Friday! The new fiddler rays got names today โ Tasman, pictured here spy-hopping to see her visitors, and Viola, whoโs down with her face in a vent. ๐ฆ
That is โmy Clean Water Act coworkers,โ or โmy fellow Clean Water Act employees.โ I am certainly not in charge of them.
In the crossover event of the century, my Clean Water Act employees came to the Aquarium yesterday! They had lots of questions about permitting and filtration ๐ฆ๐โค๏ธ
Itโs always a blast to visit at different times of the week. Apparently, one of the starfish in with Tako had been given a submarineโฆ
We got to go to the Sea Roversโ International Ocean Clinic today! Such a treat! ๐ฆ
Aquarium Friday! ๐ฆ
When we list all the sharks in the aquarium, these chain dogfish are often forgotten. But boy are they pretty โ and local!
You keep doing you, Marine Alligator Gar ๐๐
Indeed, Alligator Gars (and several other gar species) can live in full saltwater! This lives full-time in a marine exhibit with tarpon, sharks, and a sea turtle!
The Aquarium got some new, albeit hard to photograph, residents recently! ๐ฆ
These tropical babies are Gulf Stream orphans. They were stranded in New England waters as temperatures dropped, then found and brought to us!
Iโm listening to a NASA town hall about the new NISAR satellite. So exciting.
I was recently reminded that these satellite programs are a prime example of public goods. A successful launch, at a time when many public goods are under attack, feels great.
Government exists to provide services! ๐งช

Women arenโt just reaching for the stars, theyโre engineering the rockets that get us there. On International Day of Women and Girls in Science, these are some of the faces of @esa.int Space Transportation.
That Ring commercial is terrifying. Surely no one would ever use this for anything bad
Ha, sure thing! You can even make your own in the same style if you want: www.esri.com/arcgis-blog/...
Got to make a cool map at work this week: data centers permitted (in any capacity) by the EPA. It's always a treat to use symbologies from @johnnelsonmaps.bsky.social! #gischat
Jeopardy fame is one of the coolest types! ๐
Yesterday was #WorldWetlandsDay, and I have seen so much diverse beauty during fieldwork this year. How lucky we are to spend our time like this. โ๏ธ๐๐ฑ
So awesome!
Aquarium Friday ๐ฆ New addition to the elasmobranchs โ fiddler rays!
A small bright spot in an otherwise chilly and blustery and news-heavy week. Stay warm ๐ค๏ธ
