OMFG I had to go and check that this ACTUALLY happened.
Since when does the BBC ever do chyrons with a political party's branding, rather than their own? Not to mention this is during a pre-election campaign purdah.

Offord on the telly again talking about getting '800,000 economically inactive people back to work'.
High time journalists start properly interrogating this abject nonsense.

Morning. I have always loved that spot and the view from there.
Same plus Gaza.
I get a little frustrated every time I see the statement that Scotland and England "well actually" don't have different views on immigration.
Because yes they do. It's not as big as many suggest it is, but there's a statistically significant gap.

two images of the human body's circulatory system. One of them with good cable management
The human circulatory system, before and after proper cable management.
Photo of a Red Rebel on the front of a zine with the words Rebellion! and Davenant in white below. The zine is lying on a wooden floor.
The zine for Rebellion! is now available in my shop. It has 55 photos distilled down from 40,000 taken over the life of the project. I’m very pleased with the quality of the printing and hope you like it https://marcdavenant.com/product/rebellion-zine/
Hi Marc. Looks great - just ordered!
I also got a chance to see Outsiders at Street Level Photoworks in Glasgow over the weekend - you did an amazing job capturing the humanity and beauty of people who are often invisible.
Very moving, and also, this country/society sucks...😞
Ooh...did not know about this and would have loved to attend! I am sure it was great.
Something we see both in contemporary studies and in historical accounts of conspiracism (publishers, call me!) is that the predispositions for belief in conspiracy theories can be found in all stages of life, but they tend to converge sharply on older people. Quick thread:
Increasingly thinking we should be banning social media for over 60s rather than under 16s!
Great use of “speechify” and “vociferate”
- both very appropriate for the current situation.
😆
Your near future looks like it may unfortunately involve a lot of "traffic" and roadworks...
Especially if disguised as a duck (make sure to read the alt text)
Worth going - lots of interesting insights into life in DDR.
Nailed it, re the BBC
Saying I think other political parties are rubbish so I’m going to vote Reform is like saying I don’t like this burger so I’m going to eat this toxic waste tip instead.
Nuts.
What is left is indeed a newer building that was attached to older buildings on two sides that have subsequently been largely but not completely removed. There are lots of “ghost buildings” in Glasgow.
Photo of mural called “Bow down and honour the room ” created by Fearless Collective in Glasgow’s Merchant City. In front are billboards with advert for Brutal Scotland exhibition in Street Level Photoworks.
Glasgow looking brutally fearless this morning.
Beautiful. Enjoy - cheers!
Beautiful!
We stayed in the Rakuyu hotel visible on the hillside in the next bay when we were there last May. More expensive than the other places we stayed but beautiful views and included superb tea time cakes and onzen. Highly recommend considering if visiting the area.
“The health secretary is currently refusing to publish vital briefing documents…that will provide the truth about the risks of Palantir’s data platform.”
Yes, Monorail is great and run by brilliant people, so always worth a visit. Also try to see a gig - so many brilliant venues.
As people get postal votes for the Scot Parl election please be careful of the spoiler operation which is 'Independent Green Voice'. They are listed second on the regional ballot paper in South of Scotland with the real Green Party further down. IGV is a right-wing spoiler operation.
Really enjoying listening to Huw Stephen’s’ BBC6Music broadcast from the magnificent @monorailmusic.bsky.social for record store day! Great music and banter. The longstanding love affair of this great city (Glasgow for those who don’t know) and music really shines through!🎸 🥳
Erdinger Weissbeer bottle next to a Kuchlbauer Turm glass with the contents of the former (yes, I know, mix and match sacrilege!)
Friday innit?
Thank goodness and cheers all!

This is a really odd argument because I think at the heart of it, there is a deep misunderstanding about what writing is for. I write to communicate my thoughts and ideas, and to bring people along with me, which AI cannot do for me because it isn't me.
