First page of Amelie Shypilova's '5 Things You See'. A young person is in the bys, surrounded by people. They have a popper fidget toy, and are looking at all the people around them: people hanging out, eating. They are trembling, and think to themselves '4 things I can touch. 3 things I can smell. 2 things I can...!!!' They take a deep breath and hold it in for 3. They exhale. They take a deep breath and barely hold it in, and start breathing deeply more and more, less time passing every time.

First page of Pentaro Pentarovssky's 'Cherrypicking'. A beetle is walking happily and finds a cherry. It picks it up excitedly when suddenly a giant hand comes in from above and takes the cherry from it. We see the hand belongs to a human who happily eats it, while the beetle fumes.
A beetly end of the day, thans to @pentaro.ink Read their "Cherrypicking" at Fodongo.ca! First page attached, rest on site:

End of Day report on #Arisan
We're in the final 4 days.
$30 more and it's $2,500 to this project being funded and greenlit.
Pale Premonitions 3 will be out within 2 days, but the comic's fate looms, but we got this. As always, sharing around helps a ton.

a photograph of ~20 green zines shaped like pocket knives
i sure did hand cut every aspect of these and draw the covers (this was enjoyable and deeply in advisable) ((i will do it again)) (((available at OCAF this weekend!)))
Time for some Spring art!
This one is a little tricky because unless we're talking about Cherry Blossoms (see yesterday's posts) "Spring" has a different vibe in the Pacific NorthWest.

Panel 1: Buddy and Pal are standing around when Buddy says "Let's normalize wearing baggy pants again?"
Panel 2: Pal responds "You would have to start wearing pants" and Buddy looks confused.
Panel 3: Looking down Buddy says "Ah hell, where did they go this time?"
They are always in the last place you look.

Two femme figures stand side-by-side, both bathed in starlight and with spotlights highlighting their faces. On the left is Nicole Maines, wearing a low cut leather top with a lace-scalloped hem and with her long brown hair unfurled around her neck. On the right is a younger Aleshia Brevard, wearing a country-western button-up with very flashy earrings, her hair done up in a ’60s style.
In 2018, Nicole Maines became the first trans person to play an explicitly transgender superhero on television. Fifty years prior, another trans femme quietly took on a role on the opposite side of the coin.

The cover art for INX comic, issue 12. A trans woman in a shoulderless dress with a visible Adam's apple and curly hair tucked behind her shoulder gazes into the camera, with leaves and flowers flowing upwards behind her. The moon forms a makeshift nimbus behind her head, and the text at the bottom says "See you in starlight...", a reference to the Interpol track "Stay In Touch" from the album "Marauder", which I was listening to quite a bit at the time.

given most of the recent Goings-On here on this side of the pond, i'm looking at moving my portfolio website and blog (currently hosted on a VPS on Vultr) off of US-based infrastructure i am aware that "there is no cloud, only someone else's computer", but i do not have direct access to bare metal in a non-five-eyes state. with that stated: does anyone have recommendations for a privacy-centric VPS service located outside of US jurisdiction? for context, i am an American trans journalist and graphic novelist who is more than comfortable with setting up a Linux webserver from scratch. literally just need somewhere i can give my readers updates on my work without possibly facing US-based anti-trans censorship in the future. (plz boost 4 reach!)
i know bsky is not full of Technical Linux Enjoying Dorks like myself, but i am boosting this here for added reach
plz feel free to comment below if you have any recs/any good experiences with hosting services and folk
working w/students or up-and-coming artists isn't just great for them obvs, but it's great for you too. Whenever I have mentored a student in any way I leave the conversation excited, inspired, and remembering why I chose art in the first place.
This quiz is pretty straightforward, and it would be great if Transport Canada had enough data to do something!
