And he has his own dragon, named Idris after Ivor's friend.
An actor in a dragon costume reads a poster on the library door for an activity based on "How to Train Your Dragon".
The St Albans Mummers' dragon is a keen member of the local library.
The two are easily mistaken.
Ah! the Lincolnshire Alps.
Trees, covered alternately in red and white blossom, along a road, viewed from the playing field known as Bernards Heath, in St Albans.
The second Battle of St Albans (17 February 1461) was fought in part on Bernards Heath. Sandridge Road, which runs across the heath, is lined with cherry trees whose red and white blossom represents the Lancastrian and Yorkist forces.
The fifth one is Chaos, "who left before they got famous" (Terry Pratchett, Thief of Time)
It's not the Shard...
Last year we re-homed (gave away) maybe 30 primroses; this year there's the same sort of number being put by the front fence in batches for people to take. All from the raspberry patch, and there are more small ones which will presumably flower next year...
Standing under an arch reading "Donor Recognition Ceremony", holding my certificate and medal.
Commemorative coin/medal reading "In recognition of your amazing generosity" - given for my 100 donations of whole blood.
To London, to celebrate - with many others - my 100+ armfuls. We'll be back next year for @dotee2025.bsky.social's 100th. @GiveBloodNHS #GivingType

I've not been keeping up with copyright for a few years, but if you have specific questions I might be able to help.
Was it pronounced dead by a spin doctor?
... and other "vegetables"!
I'm always amazed by the way that the birds group themselves by size. The smaller ones stay towards the bottom of the 300 ft cliffs, while the bigger ones at the top look exactly the same ...
The whole point of a code name is that it gives no idea about what it relates to. The boffins at Malvern came up with lots of names including VILLAGE INN, BOOZER and LIQUID LUNCH - anyone detect a theme there?
I first met Jonathan over 30 years ago. He was keen on the Stirling then, and has continued to acquire and disseminate knowledge of the type.
Driving through Spain, the Google Maps lady pronounced Badajoz as Barber Joe's. 🤦♂️
Birthday cake in the shape of an aeroplane, emitting blue and white smoke.
Aeroplane-shaped birthday cake, trailing blue and white smoke.
My daughter made me a birthday cake - a few days after the event - with candy floss "smoke". Thanks, Fi - Wizard show!
We must be twins! Many happies...

A Christmas present from my daughter, maybe 10 years ago - I've only lost one so far...
The Dragon and Old Father Christmas stand ready for the 2025 performance.
Another splendid, if cold, Boxing Day with the St Albans Mummers. Good crowds at the five venues (only two of them pubs) who seemed to enjoy the updated script containing at least one new joke... Some £800 in donations, most of which will go to local charities. stalbanstimes.co.uk/events/in-pi...
It seems that Overhead Projectors are still much-favoured by the teaching staff. A very enjoyable visit ended with Gill and I joining students and staff to sing English Christmas carols - an annual tradition in the language faculty!
Reproductions of leaflets created by the White Rose Group of students, who protested against the Nazis. Part of a memorial to those who were executed.
Memorial to Sophie Scholl.

Splendid afternoon with Saskia - my Research Tutor, now at the University of Munich - including a tour of the buildings and a discussion on the students who protested about the Nazis.
Very interesting article which shows that #Archives can be a much-underused resource.
My paper on government departments and aviation history is now available to download free from the @aerosociety website: www.aerosociety.com/publications...
I think Rosencrantz and Guildernstern was the first proper play/production I saw. Many years later I saw Hamlet and decided that Shakespeare was mostly a collection of quotes...

Sunset clouds over the sea, looking towards Spurn Point
Sunset across the harbour and south shore
Grand to be back in #Bridlington for the Old Bridlingtonian Club Annual Dinner. A bracing breeze and a good sunset.

The floors in some rooms are ratings, so Air can flow around the shelves.
Long runs of shelving packed with books
Very interesting visit to The London Library with colleagues from the RAF Club Library. It's a fascinating, labyrinthine building with a massive collection.
