"A state sponsored ethnic cleansing"
Former Israeli general Yaakov Orr in a detailed and scathing account of the Israeli cabinet's policy to empty large parts of the West Bank of its Palestinian population. (Hebrew).

Trump just wants a potemkin victory, and then out. Never cares about the long term.
I mean, of course that’s what happening. It’s been clear the whole time
That is a serious problem.
Great to know we have an objective jurist who focuses on the merits of the cases before him on the Court
Cover of Mother Jones with an image of fingers pointing at John Roberts and the coverline "Blame John Roberts for Everything"
The NYT big expose on SCOTUS today pairs well with @ariberman.bsky.social and @pemalevy.bsky.social's cover story on how ~everything wrong with this country today can be laid at the feet of John Roberts: www.motherjones.com/politics/202...
Alarming, but also the @nytimes.com should reflect on how often they interview a so-called random person who ends up being a Trump/GOP operative.

It's no coincidence that the first case in which Roberts exercised these unprecedented "shadow docket" powers involved climate change policy. Please always remember that his efforts to damage the planet should be as much a part of his legacy as his attacks on democracy.
And why stop at universities? Let's have viewpoint diversity in law enforcement! Let's have it in the officer corps of the military! Let's have it in corporate boardrooms!
Over just five days, the justices had decided the issue. Even as they debated the Obama plan’s possible burden on the power industry, in the entire chain of correspondence obtained by The Times, not a single justice, conservative or liberal, mentioned the dangers of a warming planet as one of the possible harms the court should consider.
Another data point in “originalism is a fraud.” So much for the law is the law we can’t think about the impact. They rail against “results oriented judging” in public but when their corporate clients make requests they know exactly what to do. www.nytimes.com/2026/04/18/u...
Jealousy of Obama may have undone this country (Roberts, trump)
Roberts turned the court into Calvinball because he liked coal companies. And his expert analysis (apparently from blogs and fox) was totally wrong.
If you are as infuriated as you read this as I am, know that Congress not only has the power to fix the abuse of the Shadow Docket but also that the legislation is already drafted. We just need to get it to the floor. www.nytimes.com/2026/04/18/u...
Bingo
Waking up to discover that evidence has been released proving something we all knew. The Supreme Court's efforts to stop the Obama clean power plant rules were rooted in explicit, corrupt efforts to protect the fossil fuel industry.
That could explain the confusion readers had about why a hotel door couldn't be gotten into.
The GOP-stacked SCOTUS is a threat to the planet. Literally.
Truly unbelievable.
OMG
Kash Patel appears to be a drunken national security threat
"Meetings and briefings had to be rescheduled for later in the day as a result of his alcohol-fueled nights."
"A request for 'breaching equipment' ... was made last year because Patel had been unreachable behind locked doors."
Just an idea, but maybe don't believe everything Trump says
Chaos and uncertainty in the #StraitOfHormuz
Cargo ships that earlier appeared to be stampeding en masse for an exit of the Persian Gulf through the Strait north of the international shipping lanes have turned or been turned back. Some examples... www.vesselfinder.com
Risk on? I guess
Jaw-dropping account of the 27-year-old tyro who is spearheading the State Department assault on America’s European allies. It’s telling that he and other MAGA warriors denounce restrictions on free speech everywhere but in Hungary or Russia or Belarus. www.nytimes.com/2026/04/17/w...
Vance has now seized the top seat in the Death of Expertise Hall of Fame: He has lectured the pope—the pope, the leader of a billion and a half Catholics—about being too sloppy with theology.
The queen of all vices: Pride.

So at the risk of maybe overreading this and making an educated guess, I think I can guess what specifically Wyden is talking about.
I think it's about use of AI (LLMs) by FBI to surveil American communications without a warrant
Trump: "Millions of American small businesses, including corner stores. What is a corner store? I've never heard that term. I know what a corner store is but I've never heard it described-- a corner store. Who the hell wrote that?"
There's going to be a new Art of War that's going to be like "don't fire all your standoff weapons and interceptors off all at once" and "don't feed your navy expired lunch meat."
