I'm 50% of the way through Rhythm of War by Brandon Sanderson... Here's my hottest take so far (for the whole SA series thus far)... I dislike Taravangian far more than I dislike Moash... That's not to say Moash is redeemable in anyway, but... That's it... That's the take....

I've been a bit quiet lately... Not intentionally, but I've been traveling and am just getting back from Brisbane. Looking forward to catching up!!
Reading in the Café Monday morning... Hard to beat
Ok #BookSky, I spent the last 15-20min prepping to read Rhythem of War by breaking the spine in.... I can't stand cracked spines and these mass market paperbacks are.... Tricky...
Welcome to Sunday morning, #BookSky. Espresso martini, a bit of reading, and some curling. Don't come after me about the glass.... Beggars can't be choosers 🤷
I have yet to find out! Maybe 2/3rds through of my read. (context: it's not the protagonist that's getting the redemption it's a secondary character that is a major focus who betrayed the protagonist!)
Alright #BookSky, I'm going to come out and say it.... The whole concept of a redemption arc is not for me. If you love it, I'm not dissing. I just horde grudges like a dragon hordes gold. I'm not sure someone who's betrayed me, I could ever forgive.... 🤷
I'm not sure it's a perfect fit for your ask, but the best lit fic book I've read in some time is The Bee Sting by Paul Murray. I would say the bulk of the narrative is the guilt felt / held by the four main characters
It's 7* outside, but I'm finishing this book at the brewery... All I can say is.... What. The. Actual. Fuck...?!
A blue tattooed pictsie, with orange hair, orange braided mutton chops, raising his fists grinning for a fight
Got myself my second literary tattoo yesterday! From Terry Pratchett's Wee Free Men, I present to you my very own Nac Mac Feegle. The internet has dubbed him "No' As Mad as Mad Angus But Madder Than Sane Angus Angus" (iykyk 🤷)
House of Frank by Kay Synclaire
Perhaps we'll have another William Henry Harrison
Fucking terrifying
That is awesome! It looks soooo good! I have a few flash soot sprites on my leg lol (that's all the studio Ghibli art I've got)
I can't tell what that tattoo is but the quality of the art looks impeccable!
At the @pwhlpa.bsky.social game between the Minnesota Frost and Montreal Victoire at Ball Arena this afternoon! So much fun!
Looks fantastic! I really enjoyed their stuff when I was over visiting
Did you read A Day of Fallen Night yet? If not do you plan to?
There’s a small bookshop “adult scholastic book fair” at a local brewery
They vastly misunderstood the demand
For my 6th read of the year I'll be returning to the Disc... Is this my first Discworld read this year? No. Will this be my last? No. Do I have a problem? Maybe.... 🤷
Hmm... Probably Dusty, but I'm making some assumptions about them already 😂
Ok ok but like now you definitely need to share what do remember about your ttrpg character!
I've been trying to be better about going to the gym. I started last year and was very rigorous for a few months but got a little more sporadic as my travel schedule ballooned... I'm the worst at holding myself accountable
Decided to read at the brewery tonight! Really been enjoying this one!
I didn't, I luckily had a small-ish table saw. I've seen people post guides of how to do it with a circular saw and it looks like a nightmare compared to a table saw. It's doable, but I think it becomes a lot trickier and less precise
5. Template pieces are your friend... Whether for spacing shelves, shelf widths, etc) not needing to rely on a tape measure for 25&5/16ths of an inch 20 times is a time saver
6. If you don't have a table saw, borrow or rent one
3. You're going to be working with crazy fractions, pre-plan all shelves and use actual material measurements (eg a 3/4" thick piece of wood isn't actually 3/4" thick)
4. Once you know your shelf widths, create a template so you're not measuring every time / cut
1. Corner clamps, get a good set of corner clamps for the shelf construction
2. Aligning the shelves is an absolute pain, if I did it over again I'd stagger / alternate shelf height. Eyes can easily pick up if a shelf isn't perfectly aligned
If you get started at some point don't hesitate to reach out, I've got a ton of recommendations from the "if I were to do it again" perspective! It was a fun project and took me and my spouse a solid two and a half weekends start to finish
