The play WEST GATE didn’t attempt to make sense of the tragedy of 1970, and despite a slow build into the zeitgeist and social world of its characters, it became a beautiful tribute to the 35 workers who lost their lives during the construction of the now-iconic West Gate Bridge.
More than just a quirky sci-fi adventure comedy, PROJECT HAIL MARY is about finding meaning in a world that has failed you in more ways than one. Extremely entertaining, with pockets of life-affirming drama.
SPLITSVILLE is a chaotic comedy involving childish, self-absorbed individuals, with writing that’s part-witty, deliberately messy, but also tonally uneven. Don’t watch it sober.
"Seeking the finest flavours of the Philippines, we’ve found uber-crispy pork crackling, fragrant crab curry, and the many uses of ube (a sweet, nutty, purple yam)." 🇵🇭

The series of conversations between two unlikely colleagues in DO NOT PASS GO offers a reflection on how an interconnected, efficient, and routine-driven world has left people increasingly disconnected. Witty in its humour and powerful in its moments. Favourite theatre production so far this year.
There are a handful of perfect albums, and for me Plans is definitely one of them

This brutal critique of capitalism turns the struggle of workers into a literal fight to the death for a share of a world built on exploitation and perpetual proof of value. It’s a masterpiece rich with subtext and idiosyncratic camera angles. NO OTHER CHOICE is as sharp as it is unpredictable.
Why would children need to colour the hereditary mascot of an institution built on coercion, extraction and plunder?
This is one of the children’s "interactive games" in a Melbourne library. Colonial propaganda starts early in Australia.
This obsession with alliance names has become annoying #SurvivorAU
TOGETHER is a satisfying and eerie body horror that creatively depicts unhealthy co-dependency in relationships. Franco and Brie went all out and literally acted with every last fingertip.
2 BECOME 1 by the Spice Girls takes on a whole new meaning.
A friend asked me to write an article about a documentary for an academic journal. And here I am, with the cinema all to myself.
With a final act that is both rewarding and unsettling, espionage aficionados should not miss this series.
While the biohacking premise may sound far-fetched, the intriguing setup and immersive paranoia make for an engaging watch. The script occasionally feels contrived, but the performances are mostly restrained and unexpectedly human.
If Philip K. Dick were a psychology dropout drawing inspiration from primetime network television, the result might be The Copenhagen Test. And that is not necessarily a bad thing.
With an extremely high squirm rate per minute, the latest high-adrenaline thriller SEND HELP is unmistakably Sam Raimi. Both leads gave satisfying performances in this highly entertaining castaway dark comedy. McAdams fully reclaims the mean girl title.
New short film SANDIWARA now on YouTube!
Written and directed by Sean Baker, starring Michelle Yeoh playing five different characters whose worlds collide one evening at a kopitiam in Penang. Ten colourful minutes celebrating Malaysian cuisine.

Over the weekend, I finally installed the wall gallery in my home office. A few years in the making, and the first completed project of 2026.
Isaac Herzog is accused of inciting genocide in Gaza. He shouldn’t be welcomed to Australia.
HE IS NOT WELCOME IN AUSTRALIA.

I adore cinema about cinema, and what makes SENTIMENTAL VALUE special is the abundance of details that explore how humans project onto objects, their work, and other people. It's rich in tender conversations and has mastered the use of repeated moments to examine memory from different perspectives.
Really torn between Lola and Olivia for best new artist #Grammys
Sabalenka is a power hitter and is definitely one of the best players today, but her repeated moral evasiveness and lack of generosity toward others make her values hard to respect. So for me, Rybakina winning is the best result tonight. #AusOpen 🎾
From Home Alone to Schitt’s Creek and even The Studio, her presence has always magnified the charm and humour of the work. Safe travels, Catherine O’Hara.
Sleep or a classic trilogy, either would still be less stressful 😂😂
