JUST IN: John Eastman, the conservative attorney who helped devise President Trump's last ditch strategy to overturn the 2020 presidential election, has officially been disbarred, per the California Supreme Court:

Fantastic
Trying to explain St Augustine to the pope, the former head of the Augustinian order, who wrote his doctoral thesis on Augustine, on his way back from celebrating mass at the Basilica of St Augustine in Annaba, Algeria, overlooking the site where Augustine lived is peak Adult Catholic Convert.
There is precedent, after all.

Re-upping this. You know, as one does, randomly, and for no particular reason.
Blotchy yellow and orange sunset in a pale blue, cloudy sky, just above a grassy field in the foreground highlighted by the last rays; long stems with shepherd's crook ends bend toward the right, a few silhouette head against the brilliance of a sort of corona effect of the Sun. A yellow lanceleaf tickseed flower is backlit and not easily distinguishable.
A slightly different angle of the same view, somewhat higher than the first, more clearly illuminating several of the tickseed flowers, the one closest to the camera less in focus than the two behind it, and a better perception of the clouds and the near-far grassy horizon. The jagged edges of a leaf are outlined in brilliant white from the last rays, and the depths and richness of the different greens and tans and browns of the tangled grass field are better appreciated.
Slightly change the angle, considerably change the photo.
Well done.
Thank you.
Odd image of a vertical blue bar with a zoomed in image of a few characters representing what I was saying while dictating a post the image was created and pasted into my post without my consent nor my having intended to do so, and not while I was doing anything that could have accidentally resulted in this happening.
(Even after I deleted and reinstalled.)
This is what it looks like when it creates and pastes an image into my post. It appears to be connected with speech to text, taking a portion, at least, making it into an image, and pasting it into the post.
Seriously? This is happening to no one else?

Now happening in most posts, sometimes multiple times in the same one: an image automatically created/pasted.
And I'm getting an error message in virtually every post (twice while writing this), but never when I'm trying to (nor even mistakenly) paste or copy, so it's not user error:

DOJ Rapid Response & @DOJRR47 X.com Yesterday the Department of Justice filed a motion to vacate the convictions of several Americans who had received clemency from President Trump. This ends these years-long, Biden-era weaponized prosecutions. President Trump demanded we stop the two-tiered injustice-and we are delivering. No more rigged system. 1:32 PM • 4/15/26 • 6.7K Views
The most egregious, intolerable-to-the-point-of-firing-and-permanent-debarment-from-federal-service part of this wholly inappropriate statement about this unequivocally unacceptable action is "Trump demanded."
DOJ doesn't represent the President personally, nor is it subject to Presidential demand.
WASHINGTON - In light of recent public comments regarding the Catholic Church's teaching on war and peace, Bishop James Massa, chairman of the U.S. Conference of Catholic Bishops' Committee on Doctrine, issued the following statement: "For over a thousand years, the Catholic Church has taught just war theory and it is that long tradition the Holy Father carefully references in his comments on war. A constant tenet of that thousand-year tradition is a nation can only legitimately take up the sword 'in self-defense, once all peace efforts have failed' (Catechism of the Catholic Church, no. 2308). That is, to be a just war it must be a defense against another who actively wages war, which is what the Holy Father actually said: 'He does not listen to the prayers of those who wage war.'
"When Pope Leo XIV speaks as supreme pastor of the universal Church, he is not merely offering opinions on theology, he is preaching the Gospel and exercising his ministry as the Vicar of Christ. The consistent teaching of the Church is insistent that all people of good will must pray and work toward lasting peace while avoiding the evils and injustices that accompany all wars.
INBOX: Bp. James Massa — who chairs the USCCB’s doctrine committee — appears to rebuke VP Vance’s criticism of Pope Leo, who Vance said should be “careful” when discussing theology/the Iran War.
Massa: Leo isn’t opining but “preaching the Gospel and exercising his ministry as the Vicar of Christ.”
The ESWG is something I have been working on for a long time and we are now ready to share with all of you.

“…agents at the airport drove Batra to ICE’s field office in Harlingen in an unmarked van. She had been there many times… Office staff recognized her as she was being processed. Agents posed for photos with her handcuffed, which they said was for ‘social media,’ according to the habeas filing.”
Yes, he's an uneducated buffoon with about a first grader's reading comprehension.
But this is not so much a factual error as it is an illustration of his worldview: his nature is transactional, and his currency electoral leverage, not policy work.
"I made sure Tillis is no longer a candidate."
(We won't even mention Quaid.)
Side note: one bright promise (IMO) from that trailer: Daniels went with Hopkins' approach to Nixon (express the nature of the character) rather than Langella's (try to impersonate the subject).
Of course JD is wildly out of his depth, lane, and gourd.
But maybe folks, especially pundits, advocates, academics, journalists, and others with large followings should familiarize themselves with what papal infallibility means before confidently referring to it inaccurately.
🤦🏼♂️
Makes me think Gunnery Sergeant Hartman would conclude that he has goddamn common courtesy.
Diversity is where it’s at. ALWAYS.
The top three quarters of the front page of the April 16, 1969, edition of the New York Times, featuring the lead headline, "U.S. Scout Plane With 31 Is Lost, Reported Downed By 2 North Korean MIG's'; Wide Hunt Begins; Navy Sights Debris—2 Soviet Vessels Guided to Area ." A small black and white photograph of an Air Force reconnaissance plane similar to the Navy's EC-121 is below the headline. And below the photo is a small black and white annotated map showing the region where the incident took place. A secondary article below the map is headlined, "Caution on Plane Urged in Capital; Legislators of Both Parties Voice Anger but Oppose Hasty Retaliation."
The top half of the front page of the April 16, 1969, edition of the Washington Post, featuring the banner headline, "N. Korea Claims It Downed U.S. Plane," along with a photograph of a Navy EC-121 aircraft. The sub-headline above the lead column at right reads, "'Spy' Craft and 31 Lost, U.S. Admits; Hunt Is Pressed For Survivors In Sea of Japan." A small black and white map showing the region where the incident occurred, including a small "X" off North Korea's east coast marking the location of the shootdown.
A black and white annotated map published in TIME magazine after the incident showing the path of the EC-121 from Naval Air Station Atsugi, Japan, northwest across the Sea of Japan to North Korea. North Korea's 12-mile territorial limit is demarcated, as is the location of the attack and seizure of the USS Pueblo off the coast of North Korea on January 22-23, 1968. The number of US troops stationed in Japan and South Korea is also noted.
OTD in 1969, an enraged and intoxicated President Richard Nixon—in office only 3 months—reportedly ordered the Joint Chiefs of Staff to attack North Korea with a nuclear bomb after two of its MiG-21s intercepted and downed a US EC-121 SIGINT plane over the Sea of Japan, killing all 31 crew members.
People ask why JD converted.
His profound metanoia that led to an authentic, believable conversion came about when he saw the majority of SCOTUS was Catholic and the largest denomination in Congress was Catholicism and the most non-Koch money on the right came from Catholics, and fell to his knees.
At the very least, it could power the poorest lemon ranch in California.

May I add one more:
Permanently debar from the military, federal civil service, and/or federal contracting
JD: "And while I'm at it, I don't think the Pope truly understands transubstantiation. I really don't."
I for one expect feuding parties to be takin' long pulls on jugs with big XXX marks and threat'nin' ta find 'nem shotguns.
