Eric is Tony’s best guest. I try not to miss him.

Agreed, but I think it is worth noting in passing.

I agree that it shouldn't be. It should still be a strong consideration, I would think.

I have been assuming that he is close to top tier, but I may be wrong. I don't think he is in the Hutson or Demi class to be sure.

I agree that it is an odd choice. Aside from the actual hockey aspect, he's effectively, he's probably pushed his first Million$+ paycheck ahead a year.

That is certainly positive.

Hage is a real head-scratcher. Not said in all this his big- earning years will be delayed by one year. That’s quite a few million dollars or am I misunderstanding?

I find the Hage situation most puzzling. If he is not ready for the NHL (I think he is), I would have to think there is more to learn in the A than having a do-over in uni. Besides that, his future big contract of millions of $ will be deferred by a year. It’s fine I guess but still seems strange.

Good metaphors: waves & ripples, inhale & exhale.

I think under the circumstances, they did well to get the tie and then the win. I don't think they would have accomplished that even a month ago. I think the Caufield thing caused them to lose focus just a bit. Do you think so too?

They passed a test by playing well enough in this game.

May I tell you about hearing aids?

They may be young and talented with swagger but to my old eyes, they didn't look as talented as either of the teams they faced on the weekend. Maybe less swagger would be best.

Good point about Texier and hierarchy and meritocracy.

I thought they were showing that they had learned that lesson before the break, so it is frustrating to see them slip back. Anyway, that’s what it seemed to me.

I call Morse the gold standard as it was one of the early series we viewed. If something doesn't measure up, my wife and I look at each other and say, "It's not Morse."

I think the dream is on life support for this year. Goalie or not, the team is failing in the recent big games.

That’s the point. You couldn’t tell if they actually were.

You find the observations that no one else, or at least you describe them better.

Good morning. Pickford can crow and so can you. Fine post.

They are fortunate to pick up points when they are in a slump because that is what they are in. At least I hope that it is only a slump.
