I didn’t find your changes to R9 “an outrage” for the reasons you mentioned. However, the magical-gear and upgrades industry bothers me—it’s a bit of a time sink. Example: after much time and money, I realised I sound like me, no matter the pickup I use. Enjoyable, yes, but not transformative.
