As a regular traveller you got an EU Pet Passport.
That has been stopped. There is no alternative.

GB pet passport - VAT £5 and it lasts the life of the dog/animal.
AHC - VAT £12.50 each trip. In my case about £50 plus a year!
Only vets approved by APHA can issue an AHC. They will not be the independent vets whose prices are reasonable. But the ones who were targeted by the government recently for ripping us off. A local vet charges £50 for a consultation!! To say I am furious is an understatement.

Originally it was Brexit Karen.
I had GB Psport - Obsolete.
Had to get AHC £135 for one trip!
Then got French Psport.
But in May 2025 this government announced that they intended to reintroduce GB Pet Psport. Means pet owners can have multiple trips.
AHC now £250!
Vets ripping us off again.

What has really boiled my piss is in May 2025 the government told us they were hoping to reintroduce the GB pet passport.
I should be there now but just waiting to see what is happening with fuel.
I suspect the vets are pissed off because they have been found out ripping people off and having a price cap put on their charges. This is there way of ripping us off even more. But it’s only certain vets who issue AHC.

Today totally gutted.
New EU rules for Ralph. His French passport is no longer valid. An Animal Health Certificate is required for every trip costing between £150 and £220 depending upon which licenced bandit of a vet I go to.
Reform said they would pay my energy bills. They haven't Residents of winning street in Nigel Farage's fuel giveaway stunt complain they have missed out on prize
