What’s happened with Peter Mandelson is unacceptable. The British people were promised change at the last election and an end to the chaos from the Conservatives.

Instead, we’re seeing the same untrustworthiness and lack of transparency from this government.

I hope this review will now give families much-needed answers and lead to lasting improvements in maternity care.

I know this is a huge relief for the local families, who have had to fight so hard for this to happen. I was with the parents during their meeting with the Health Secretary a few weeks ago, and they put their case forward in such an impressive manner.

After two years of campaigning, I'm really pleased to hear that the Health Secretary has accepted calls for Donna Ockenden to chair a full independent review of maternity services at University Hospitals Sussex NHS Foundation Trust.

🏊️ At a time when too many of our rivers and seas aren’t safe to swim in, it’s deeply worrying that 1,200 pools have closed since 2010.

We need to back our communities and secure the future of these vital local facilities.

🗣️Illegal vape shops are undermining our high streets and putting young people at risk.

What started as a derelict warehouse back in July 2025 has been transformed into a sleek music and events venue. The vast amount of acoustic work that’s been done alone is impressive.

It's a real asset for the town, and I can't wait to see it thriving.

🗣️ Too many villages are losing vital local assets like pubs and community hubs, the very places that support local life.

While the Fair Funding Review recognises rurality in principle, the evidence shows rural areas face a widening funding gap compared to urban areas.

MP calls for tougher action over sewage pollution figures John Milne MP is demanding tougher action from the government over ongoing river pollution.

Sewage pollution is still blighting our rivers and waterways, and residents are rightly fed up.

I’m calling for tougher rules on pollution reporting and stronger enforcement to hold water companies to account.

✍️ I’ve joined Lib Dem colleagues in writing to Minister Steve Reed for an urgent review of shared ownership in extra care housing.

Too many families are left unable to sell, facing huge costs and unnecessary distress. We need fairness, transparency, and action from the government.

🗣️ Financial abuse is a hidden but devastating form of domestic abuse, and too often, people are still being failed by the system.

On Monday, I asked the government what more can be done to ensure child maintenance and benefits systems aren’t used as tools of coercion and control.
