I might make it a goal in 2026 to try and watch a good documentary every quarter.

I watched a recent Evasive video where she talked about movies she saw in film school, and it reminded me of the various documentaries I used to watch in college because of different events. It’s been a while since I’ve watched a doc that’s not about something salacious and trendy and I miss that.

For those who can, here are links to donate directly to local efforts on the ground resisting ICE's terrorizing of Minneapolis. Let me know what you donated to where, and I'll match it until I get a panicked call from my bank!

As someone who is in a relationship with a similar situation, sometimes it feels like that Community gif where Donald Glover comes in with the pizza, but also it feels like “Damn girl, you live like this?”

Six months later and I’ve finally gotten access to my workplace building’s gym and have been doing regular enough exercise so that my hip doesn’t die when I’m sitting on the couch!

Ever since I’ve gotten back into reading, I’ve somehow read mostly recently published horror books that are about grief and and maladaptive coping mechanisms.

sure there were no bombs in the backpack, as another officer commented that "at this point we probably need a search warrant for it." Without calling for the bomb squad, evacuating the
McDonald's or even searching for a bomb, Patrolwoman Wasser placed the backpack in her police car and brought it to the precinct.
27. Patrolwoman Wasser left McDonald's at 10:04 a.m. There is no body-worn camera
footage from her for the next 11 minutes as she drives to the precinct with the backpack. At 10:16 a.m., one minute after arriving at the precinct, Patrolwoman Wasser continued her warrantless search of the backpack. Patrolwoman Wasser first re-opened the same backpack compartment that
she had started searching at the McDonald's before immediately closing that compartment and opening the front compartment of the backpack as if she was specifically looking for something.
Instantly, she "found" a handgun in the front compartment.

So, local cops conducted a warrantless search of Luigi's backpack, realized they screwed up, admitted it on camera, put the backpack in a patrol car NOT sealed in an evidence bag (an 11 minute drive with no bodycam footage available), then searched the backpack again at the station and "found" a gun

I didn’t realize that some people actually planned out what they were going to read by month. I’ve mostly just done things by vibes and whatever came off of my library hold list tbh

If you’re a self-saboteur you can reframe fucking up as “the prophecy has been fulfilled” — it doesn’t fix the problem but it does make it sound a lot cooler

That’s fair. Having now read Sunrise on the Reaping, I feel a bit more motivated to read Snow’s story but it’s still up in the air for me.
