I got Xenoblade Chronicles on wii before it became popular, and at the time it was like $100. Between the 3DS port and the Definitive Edition on Switch, the wii version is now like $30. Idk if FE9 will have the same effect, but I've seen that pattern before.

Was watching Blade Runner 2049 on youtube to ring in the new year since it was free, and then as the hour changed the video was stopped because it was switched to buy or rent only. Wow.

I've had the same PC and ram since 2020 and can still play new releases. I'm sure it affects the industry as a whole, but consumers who already have the hardware they need are completely unaffected by this. The meme of PC gamers upgrading their rig constantly stopped being true a while ago.

Yeah I can definitely agree that capitalism sucks. Algorithms emphasizing profitability of shortform content also sucks. I just don't think it's right to blame the consumers for how the system has fucked up their brains, although it sounds like your frustration really is with that system.

My argument has always been from the perspective of a consumer. The production logistics don't change that I like having video more.
