Humanity did that. Science did that. Publicly-funded research did that. Excellent universities did that. Diversity did that. International cooperation did that.

Artemis II is a perfect example of what we can do at our best.

Welcome home, Integrity crew!

A few have suggested that some aspects of this mission--joy, international teamwork, diversity--are being played up to stick it to the hateful attitude of the administration. But I don't think it's that. I think it's just that those things are essential to and inseparable from a mission like this.

Y'all there is a woman and a black man circling the moon and NASA's mission control+ science teams are so diverse and people are nerding out about science and exploration this is all a gigantic middle finger to the stupid and hate and grotesque ghouls running our country

Petition e-7148 - Petitions

This petition asking that every federal party leader be required to hold top-secret security clearance only has 40k signatures, but I think it would have far more if more people knew it was a GFY directed squarely at Poilievre, who refuses to get clearance.

OP-ED: Danger was flagged, but not reported: What the Tumbler Ridge tragedy reveals about Canada’s AI governance vacuum | Future of Good By Jean-Christophe Bélisle-Pipon, Simon Fraser University Eight months before the Tumbler Ridge mass shooting, OpenAI knew something was wrong. The company’s automated review system had flagged Jesse ...

Canada’s AI governance vacuum is no longer abstract — the Tumbler Ridge tragedy shows that.

Jean-Christophe Bélisle-Pipon argues Canada needs binding thresholds, an independent digital safety commission, and updated privacy law to handle AI‑specific risk.

I’m a simple person, I would just like all the hateful old men making the world worse for everyone except themselves to be out of power and on trial, so we can focus on the urgent work of making the planet livable for our children and grandchildren

I don’t know who created the videos in this short thread, but it’s a stunning example of the questionable truthfulness of the information #ChatGPT & others are giving out. People tend to believe what #AI is imparting with very little questioning.

Look at the starting 2 images, then watch the clips

I'm old.

If you're not, listen to this.

Get a guitar or some drums, or a trumpet. Pick up a brush, a pencil, some clay or a welder.

Just make shit. It doesn't have to be good (eventually it will be) just make music, art or write or whatever.

It's literally never been more important.

Finland ends homelessness and provides shelter for all in need - scoop.me In Finland, the number of homeless people has fallen sharply. Why? The country applies the "Housing First" concept agains homelessness.

“In Finland, the number of homeless people has fallen sharply. Those affected receive a small apartment & counselling with no preconditions. 4 out of 5 people affected make their way back into a stable life. And all this is CHEAPER than accepting homelessness.”

It costs a lot less to house people.

An excellent thread. I am far less worried about boots matching across the border than I am by incremental erosion and incremental appeasement. I fear we may surrender our sovereignty bit by bit - unless we steal our resolve. For Canada, this will not be a sprint. It will be an iron man triathlon.
