We need to stop accepting views expressed on Twitter as real opinions. The sooner everyone assumes that the median post on that website is done in bad faith and principally designed to chase clout, the sooner we stop letting these fake controversies take up all the oxygen in the room.

I ***just*** mentioned yesterday how I can't trust Twitter people to hold genuine opinions anymore because they can just be farming rage in return for that Twitter Blue paycheck. I must always assume now that the stupidest shit I've ever read on that site is someone trying to get a paycheck.

So I happened upon thr exact post you were talking about and jesus fuck. Not only was I fucking right about "enforcing gender stereotypes but wokely", it's a Twitter Blue's opinion.

Crazy knowing they were modeled with their iconic mouths going off that one promo yet their actual Cinematic Debut still does not reflect this.

That's true! I don't think I've ever heard of a social media or forum that paid its users back based on engagement, however. Not before Twitter or even really since Twitter, to my knowledge.

The ways in which Twitter Blue helped ruin actual, good-faith discussion on its platform feel uniquely bad.

I think this is the best response, honestly. Wish I had more to add but I don't, just that I appreciate this perspective a lot.

I find it hard to produce tears these days, even during moments I wish I could. I wonder if that has anything to do with how hard I tried to avoid crying as I got older, since crying in itself was so often worthy of beratement.

I am so fucking sick of always hearing about how emotions are problematic and get in the way of "logical thinking"; that line of thinking tells me an optimized way of life does away with feeling, does away with soul. Yet I hear it so much that, maybe they're right? And I start to wish I didn't feel.
