Thank you! :-)

I would accept that apology.

He knows he'll be remembered forever if he uses nukes.
I mean, yes - but it helps when you're the one with cookies in your pocket. ;-)
No at all! It's possible he took the stick, but the other dog (with iron guts) stole it from him.
A tri-colored smooth collie dog puts his nose on an apple I have on my lap. The angle of the image makes his long nose look even longer than usual.
Bags of raw wool sitting on the grass. Black, brown, gray, white.
A closeup view of a bag of dark gray/brown wool.
Detail view of my hand, holding locks of natural dark gray wool. The tips of the fleece have been lightened by the sun, and the crimp is very fine. This fleece belongs to Mimi, a finewool Shetland ewe.
Skirting fleeces: not my favorite task, but the good news is that I'm 1/3 done.

I have no pictures of this, so use your imagination: last night my old cattle dog went under a gap in the fence into the sheep pasture. He was happily eating sh*t when the flock spotted him, and first slowly, then quickly, they all chased him around and around the pasture.

Yes, definitely! Took it to a friend's house yesterday to try out some of these other short-stapled fibers.
So hard to get brains off your sandals
I'm still tuning it up - it works, but feels a little stiff. I'm not really a cotton spinner, so I'm taking it to a friend this weekend who spins fibers more suited to it. I've wanted to try one for a long time, so that's fun.
A contemporary box charkha from India, sitting on my table. I have painted it with decorative scrolls and stylized cotton blossoms and bolls.
Another view of the charkha, with a painted quotation from Gandhi, "a plea for the spinning wheel is a plea for recognizing the dignity of labor." The other side of the box is somewhat visible, with another quote from Gandhi, "I crave to die with my hand at the spinning wheel.
Another view of thep ainted box charkha .
The interior of the box charkha. It is not fully assembled in this view; the spindle, with some spun yarn on it, using the storage position, and the spindle holder is folded down.
I painted the charkha, of course. My lettering is pretty poor, but maybe it will improve with practice. I suspect it would improve with patience, but π€·πΌββοΈ

No. Congress needs a kick in the ass, and djt needs to go f*ck himself.
Triceratops! Definitely the most beautiful dinosaur.
He sounds like he's 8 years old.
A black plastic sled filled with water and stripes of lime bast, the inner bark og a basswood/Linden tree. My dog, Marlowe, is standing by the setup.
A black plastic tub with bundles of flax in it. The flax is weighted with several logs to keep it under the water in the tank.
My tortico cat, Luna, playing with a little piece of cordage I made from a piece of lime bast.
Experimenting with lime bast (basswood) and some flax getting extra retting. I made a little cordage with the lime bast, but Luna took it. Very warm today! And maybe a thunderstorm tonight.

Some heads on pikes at the city gates may also be necessary.
And if wishes were horses, beggars would ride.
Thank you! Anything that holds still around here is likely to get painted.
It is flax, with quite a long staple (about 24 inches).
I didnβt know this, did you? Amazing!
Not just you!
A white sheep with her nose in green grass. There is a dog in the background, but neither animal is paying attention to the other.
Another view of the white sheep eating grass in my front yard. She is very skinny! You can see her ribs and spine through her short wool. In the background, daffodils and other spring bulbs are beginning to bloom. The sheep's name is Lachtna, and she is 15 years old, which is very old for a sheep.
Lachtna, one of my super senior ewes, had a good appetite today, so she got to roam around the yard and eat the very beginning of the grass.

I have 2 like this, both from other spinners. Folks who only spin wool tend not to enjoy using these wheels, because the ratio is sooo slow. They're fun for long flax and hemp, though!
I think you are asking about the tensioning screw? It's threaded through the base of the flyer assembly, and moves that whole part closer or farther from the drivewheel. The tightness or looseness of the driveband between flyer and wheel affects spinning & needs to be adjustable...
My cat, Luna, interfering with the spindle of a book charka (a spinning wheel for cotton, from India).
The book charka in its open, ready-to-spin position. It's an accelerated spindle wheel built into a box roughly the size of an attachΓ© case. This one was very inexpensive, and the wood is thin and unfinished.
The book charka in its closed position. The box is not very nice-looking, so I will probably paint it.
Got this book charka off Ebay, but Luna won't let me try it out.
