Disney Layoffs Hit Marvel Studios Hard The Academy Award-winning artists behind some of Marvel's biggest hits are among the casualties from company wide staff reductions.

Fixed it for you @forbes.com.

“These decisions are not a reflection of their contributions, or of the overall strength of the company. Rather, they reflect our continual [need to increase shareholder value].”

Please give us a pdf. And then retype it all anyways. And then we’re gonna use AI to analyze it, and deny your application, but not send you a no thank you email.

Semi-regular reminder that Substack is a nazi bar.

If you need an easy to use, hosted service there’s Ghost, Wordpress, Buttondown, Kit, Beehiiv, Patreon…

My local (The Dragon in Guelph) advertised it as FCBD. But the IG post doesn’t look like there was an official press kit. I’m not industry though so no idea beyond that.

I think we're also seeing a lot more vibes related errors & outages that aws isn't disclosing.

I probably don't want to know what this is referring to. But I absolutely understand the point being made.

A month ago @taylorlorenz.bsky.social wrote this excellent piece on gross dudes making apps to shame women. The last lines asks for someone to “develop a [tool] to calculate the number of orgasms these men have achieved for women. They can call it Orgasm Counter.”

So I did.

I think I'm going with:
1. $25 The Grizzled
2. $75 Sekigahara

If I restarted my board game collection I think I would prefer to have as close to one game as possible.

The Terra Ignota series into the Gormenghast series? Dang. That sounds marvellous. Love both. Terra Ignota is some of my favourite recent-ish scifi books. Side note, her historical novel Inventing the Renaissance was super eye opening. Loved it.

Instead of buying a big dumb data centre from Microsoft that’ll never work, Canada Post should have been tasked with building out a nationalized data/ai utility.

My hand holding a copy of Agustina Bazterrica’s short story collection “Nineteen Claws and a Black Bird” in front of a full bookshelf.

Finished “Nineteen Claws and a Black Bird” by Agustina Bazterrica. Deeply upset that I am unable to pull a new Bazterrica book off the shelf. Anyway, two thumbs up. I’m pretty sure these thumbs are mine and that they are indeed thumbs.
