how much can you jack up your salary if you quit cloudflare and join vercel and then quit vercel and join cloudflare in a loop
For years I've been warning people there'd be a cataclysmic supply chain attack - today might be that day: Axios, with over 100m downloads, compromised.
If I had to speculate, this is likely further fallout from the recent shai-hulud worms that percolated npm.

I know of some small breweries in Colorado that do this: the owner takes majority and the brewers/employees take the rest - works well
Don't get me wrong! VC and incredibly wasteful capital expenditures in modern SaaS are 100% a problem: I'm rooting for an alternative and I hope atproto is part of it.
I'm all ears for an alternative: currently hiring talent and it's ROUGH. The going rate for engineering is easily 150-200k$+ for senior, much more for niche talent who's scaled services before. Usually the only path is injecting capital to scale the team.
Again, capital: you don't need millions of dollars to build a podcast network. You typically DO need millions of dollars to hire engineers, scale compute infra, run SaaS services (all things atproto based businesses need to do).
There's also the voting problem: new tech companies with 1 or 2 founders have a hard enough time devising the direction they want to take.
Now imagine having to get consensus from 50 voting members in the co-op: yikes!
At that point with that check size, you're just raising from angels, not members, and might as well just close the whole thing from 2 or 3 VCs.
People have tried tech co-ops and, unfortunately, they don't work in the modern era: let's say you needed $5m with a burn of ~$1m/year (infra, salaries, health insurance, etc.) for 5 year runway - you'd need 50 members to come in at $100k each, a very very tall order

X is so exhausting, I can't handle it - there are thousands and thousands of AI grifters - how's bsky feeling about sensible AI usage these days?
what would you do? start the farm? get into wood working? have a garden - I sure haven't dreamt of those days ππͺ

A meme of Squidward from Spongebob looking out of the window at Spongebob and Patrick. The captions read: (over Squidward): "Me, at home" (over Spongebob and Patrick): "Everone else in Vancouver right now"

very nice!
Wow, very cool - exactly what we built stereOS / mb for - how are you liking it so far?
oh YES.
How did we unlock a fully local, cached, reproducible build and release CI/CD that cross compiles Go CGO binaries? With @dagger.io and @ziglang.bsky.social of course!

Open to any an all feedback! This is a legitimate project with real use cases for telemetry, auditability, and securing agents like claude code. So not certain what's "faux" about it.
Screenshots are a good idea although not certain what we'd even show! It's a data pipeline and context utility: you want to see server logs?
Support HTTPS_PROXY is abit of an anti-pattern because the proxy is just a reverse proxy to the upstream provider: we support CC through ANTHROPIC_BASE_URL
πΌ Introducing tapes: transparent telemetry for your AI agents
Last week, we open sourced tapes, a new tool for agentic telemetry. We built this to help you understand the "what", "why", and "how" of your agents. It also requires zero code changes!!
