It’s pre-COVID. In 2018 we pulled up to a stoplight to see a friend on his bike…and a driver was using a vehicle to push him! Driver was mad & endangered another person just cuz he could. I was driving; my husband jumped out of our car to help friend, who was caught on the mad driver’s front bumper

There’s an artist opportunity for temporary art at 3 areas of the site during construction. Applications are due April 26: bsky.app/profile/fore...

At dentist this morning, he made small talk about construction at United Village. I said it’s nice to see development at the intersection but I don’t love that it’s private millionaires making all the decisions; he said he’s just learned to accept that’s the way it is. And that’s simply depressing.

The Horrors That Could Lie Ahead if Vaccines Vanish Researchers at Stanford University modeled how many people could die or be disabled in 25 years if vaccines for polio, measles, rubella or diphtheria were no longer available.

Over the last 25 years, six people who contracted measles in the U.S. died from it.

A model built by Stanford researchers predicts that if Americans could no longer get the vaccine, measles could kill about 290,000 people in the next 25 years.

Plenty of Brown ice agents in Mpls St. Paul. Remember, the two guys who killed Alex Pretti are Jesus Ochoa and Raymundo Gutierrez. My neighbor volunteered on St. Paul’s west side, (a huge Latino community), and she told me that all the iceholes harassing that community are Brown.

ICE agents reveal daily arrest quotas and surveillance app in rare court testimony Under oath, officers said they were told to make eight arrests a day and given special tech to help choose ‘targets’

When a federal judge (finally) put ICE officers under oath, they admitted that they are given daily detention quotas and rely heavily on a Palantir-supplied AI tool to select targets, without warrants and without enough evidence to obtain one. They simply go into neighborhoods and round people up.

If you’re open to sprucing up an existing place, I don’t know if anything’s in the works at the old Subway at Selby/Victoria but it’s been empty for months. Would be nice to see someone move in there.

Yep. I used to think it was printed fabric. They are designed electronically, then projected, traced and painted.

It’s great to see the signed MN flag from the Austin FC supporters flying at Allianz. Thank you, @losverdesatx.bsky.social!

I’ve helped with three of them. Join the Loons subreddit and you’ll see the call come out for volunteers to take shifts tracing, painting, and deploying.

A chilly and joyful MNUFC home opener, with a 1-0 win over Cincinnati. The team looked fluid and should be fun to watch this season.

It was great to see the Supporters’ tifo displayed. This is the third one I’ve helped make (they have volunteer shifts for tracing and painting).

OCASIO-CORTEZ STATEMENT ON
TRUMP'S COMBAT OPERATIONS IN IRAN
"The American people are once again dragged into a war they did not want by a president who does not care about the long-term consequences of his actions. This war is unlawful. It is unnecessary. And it will be catastrophic.

"Just this week, Iran and the United States were negotiating key measures that could have staved off war. The President walked away from these discussions and chose war instead.President Trump flippantly acknowledged the possibility of American casualties, stating "that often happens in war.'

"Mr. President: this was not an inevitability. This is a deliberate choice of aggression when diplomacy and security were within reach. Stop lying to the American people.

"Violence begets violence. We learned this lesson in Iraq. We learned this lesson in Afghanistan. And we are about to learn it again in Iran. Bombs have yet to create enduring democracies in the region and this will be no different.

"In moments of war, our Constitution is unambiguous: Congress authorizes war. The President does not. I will do my part to uphold our Constitution by voting YES on Representatives Ro Khanna and Thomas Massie's War Powers Resolution. Every member of Congress must join us in rejecting this aimless war.

Seized Art, Eavesdropping Guards: Parents Describe a Clampdown at Dilley Detention Center as Kids Shared Their Stories Detainees told ProPublica that art supplies have been removed in room searches, immigrants have lost access to Gmail and staff hover within earshot during video calls.

NEW: Guards have taken away crayons, colored pencils & paper during recent room searches at Dilley, according to detainees and others. After one inspection, the children just “cried and cried and cried,” a mother said. The facility denies the claims.

An official letter from the Kansas Division of Vehicles dated February 23, 2026, with a redacted recipient address. The letter notifies the recipient that due to the enactment of Senate Bill 244, all Kansas driver's licenses and IDs must reflect the holder's sex at birth. It states that the recipient's current credential will become invalid immediately upon the law's publication on February 26, 2026, with no grace period. The recipient is directed to surrender their current ID to receive a new one matching their sex assigned at birth. The document concludes with instructions on how to appeal the notice if received in error, along with contact information for the department.

Kansas is sending letters to trans people telling them that their licenses will be revoked as of tomorrow and that they risk arrest for driving on a suspended license.

This is pure cruelty.

I just want to live in a country where the leader can’t enrich themselves with our tax dollars, the government does what the people want, and the wealthy have to follow the laws.

You know, like a democracy.

Third American death linked to ICE crackdown uncovered by Newsweek While the 23-year-old's death was reported in March 2025, it was not made clear that a federal agent fired the fatal shot.

For a whole year, DHS hid that they murdered Ruben, a young man in Texas, after a traffic stop.

Just like they did with Silverio, Renee, Keith, Alex, and Linda, they lied and avoided accountability. How many more people have to be executed before my colleagues realize that reforms are not enough?

Hey friends, the news cycle has moved on & donations/volunteers are way down… but we still need to feed our neighbors who don’t feel safe leaving home yet.

We have been feeding 150 families/week & need more help!

If I know you IRL & you want to help by grocery shopping this weekend, please DM me.

Two or three years ago we took a Lyft from St Paul to our friends’ place in NE Mpls. Their house is tucked away in a weird corner of the neighborhood. It was something like $90 total ($45 each way) to get a Lyft there and home, including tips. We didn’t do that again.

Minneapolis Park Board puts moratorium on evictions The action is the first in Minnesota as a result of the ICE crackdown. (And yes, the Park Board owns rental homes.)

The Minneapolis Park and Recreation Board is suspending evictions for its rental properties in response to the ICE surge.

It's the first local government body in Minnesota to enact a rent moratorium because of immigration enforcement.
