It’s pre-COVID. In 2018 we pulled up to a stoplight to see a friend on his bike…and a driver was using a vehicle to push him! Driver was mad & endangered another person just cuz he could. I was driving; my husband jumped out of our car to help friend, who was caught on the mad driver’s front bumper

At dentist this morning, he made small talk about construction at United Village. I said it’s nice to see development at the intersection but I don’t love that it’s private millionaires making all the decisions; he said he’s just learned to accept that’s the way it is. And that’s simply depressing.

When a federal judge (finally) put ICE officers under oath, they admitted that they are given daily detention quotas and rely heavily on a Palantir-supplied AI tool to select targets, without warrants and without enough evidence to obtain one. They simply go into neighborhoods and round people up.

An official letter from the Kansas Division of Vehicles dated February 23, 2026, with a redacted recipient address. The letter notifies the recipient that due to the enactment of Senate Bill 244, all Kansas driver's licenses and IDs must reflect the holder's sex at birth. It states that the recipient's current credential will become invalid immediately upon the law's publication on February 26, 2026, with no grace period. The recipient is directed to surrender their current ID to receive a new one matching their sex assigned at birth. The document concludes with instructions on how to appeal the notice if received in error, along with contact information for the department.
Kansas is sending letters to trans people telling them that their licenses will be revoked as of tomorrow and that they risk arrest for driving on a suspended license.
This is pure cruelty.

Just like they did with Silverio, Renee, Keith, Alex, and Linda, they lied and avoided accountability. How many more people have to be executed before my colleagues realize that reforms are not enough?

Two or three years ago we took a Lyft from St Paul to our friends’ place in NE Mpls. Their house is tucked away in a weird corner of the neighborhood. It was something like $90 total ($45 each way) to get a Lyft there and home, including tips. We didn’t do that again.
