I'm really gonna miss Lower Decks. It was fanservice in the best way, a nonstop celebration of the joy of nerding out, and you can tell every person involved loved making it. I'll always be impressed by the way it was so thoroughly respectful of Trek while also being utterly irreverent and unhinged.

I've been following this account for most (all?) of these 10 years; I always felt a kind of commonality. 10 years ago I was also a 25yo with a weird background who was stumbling through a tech career that would turn into something I never thought I'd have. I wouldn't be shocked if there was a subculture for that! But I was thinking of games where romance is the point, like otome games, and I don't know many people who would play through one if their interests aren't aligned with the protagonist's.
