I do indeed believe it .. even fewer for Asian elephants … people are more interested in resurrecting an extinct species than keeping a living one

The songs of the servant ( that bit of Isaiah) are read in Catholic Churches during lent. They are seen as a prophesy of the suffering of Christ in the torture before his death. A rather different vision of the purpose of leadership than trumps…

With old blokes like this I probably wouldn’t bother with trying to convince them of the why the weather is changing and just focus on the preparedness bit … ( they can see that it is changing they just wont accept why)

The basic problem is that it removes the thinking and judgement out of the process. Clinical notes are to help you work out what is going on and decide what to do next and so someone else can see what you were thinking , not ( just) a record of what happened

I tend to think of anatomy as a 3d manual skill… it takes a lot of practice to be able to co-ordinate what you are seeing and feeling with the 3d model in your head …

Well that’ll be fun … lots of abscesses from poor injection practice first then weird tumours at the injection site several years down the line …

Don't get too excited - the catholic church deals in time frames of centuries.... (took them 400 years to rescind Galileo's excommunication)

And sick leave please…. And not having it count as a “ bad mark” for supervision if someone takes longer than 4 years to finish. Our ukri grants finally do this and it’s making it so much easier to manage long term health problems

Sequencing of European and Eurasian hedgehogs demonstrates a continuity of MERS-CoV like viruses in hedgehog species Hedgehogs have been recently identified as carriers of Betacoronavirus erinacei (also known as Erinaceus coronavirus, EriCoV) a virus closely related to B. came

New pre-print - this one was a really fun collaboration with colleagues in Italy with a neat finding a lot of coronaviruses reported as "recombinants" might not be (there are an awful lot of species and parts of the world not in the databases)

I mean if they have got any sort of continuous cell line from Asian elephants I’d like to try and see if eehv grows in it … but having personally watched my students fail at many, many attempts at even getting primary fibroblast to grow this is best described as truly ambitious

Oh lord … I can’t even… assisted reproduction in Asian elephants has only gotten as far as semen collection for artificial insemination and even then there is literally one bloke in the world who does it partly as it’s really fxxxxx dangerous

About time .. note this is not actually new or even research, but its the first time anyone’s been stubborn enough to push it through the uk regulatory processes
