I have some experience of vetting. It's not a pass or fail thing. A report is requested, sometimes there's an interview, points are raised but it's not like there's a pass mark, an assessment has to be made. Providing the subject is candid & forthcoming about any issues the outcome can be positive.
Farage's would be interesting. But it is amazing that while everyone wonders how it is possible for a PM to appoint an ambassador who failed the vetting process it is still possible for a PM, Johnson for example - to hold the highest office.
