My interpretation: Given *any* technology (particularly software), ask oneself "Is there an alternative which is better for society?". For example, instead of a commercial office suite, perhaps LibreOffice is better. Instead of Substack, perhaps maintaining your own site be better.
Patriotism and nationalism are part of the same thing and serve to divide us unnecessarily.
Private schools should be banned today.
School, healthcare, and transit should all be free at the point of use and will all pay for themselves.
Car and gun culture are both the same harmful isolationism.

Plus I didn't leave the country this year because I was getting my passport updated, and also I was too preoccupied with side projects. I did learn Java though (after trying not to for years).

I had a 2010 MacBook Air in a cupboard in my office. I was still using it up until a couple of years ago, and the hardware is still good. My kid needs a machine for homework, so I put Linux on it and it actually feels fast again. He loves it!
