A milestone in INSDC history, and these specifications help set out a framework for widening participation in this gloabl collaboration of nearly 40 years.

The INSDC has today launched its minimal specifcations. This has been a huge amount of work over several years involving European Nucleotide Archive staff both past and present, but also our colleagues NCBI and DDBJ.
Antimicrobial resistance (AMR) is a growing health threat, making infections harder to treat and complicating routine medical care.
EMBL-EBI’s new AMR portal brings together laboratory resistance data and bacterial genomes in one open platform.

All BGE genomes are openly available at the @enasequence.bsky.social - and can be accessed and downloaded by anyone, anywhere in the world. Head to the ERGA Data Portal to browse the data produced by #BGE and other #ERGA associated initiatives: portal.erga-biodiversity.eu/home 🖥️
🎉We are excited to launch the Data Hubs Portal! 🎉
This portal provides an interface for the Data Hubs at the ENA. To find out more about the Data Hubs Portal, visit the portal: www.ebi.ac.uk/ena/datahubs/ or see this post from EMBL-EBI: www.ebi.ac.uk/about/news/u....

I'm putting together a Microbial Bioinformatics starter pack to help get everyone connected in our community. Let me know if there are any bluesky users to be added and share so that twitter refugees can tune back in to the fantastic world microbes go.bsky.app/3ezLo7e
Proud to be part of the family of resources that brings such immense value to the global scientific community! Check out the survey results 👇
Flags designed by groups at ENA facilities day
ENA is having its annual facilities day event! We kicked off the day getting our guests to break into groups an designing some flags they felt represented their groups!
You may have noticed that we have A LOT of posts on our feed. We have imported all our Tweets into BlueSky to make it easier for users to find their favourite posts!
Please be aware, although these were all posted today, they will be marked with a "date archived" date when they were originally made
@javierutges.bsky.social feel free to let me know your ticket ID and I can help get help point you in the right direction.

Great day today discussing open data with ENA users today, getting improvement ideas for the service. It’s amazing the quantity of genomic data out there in the open, and it’s amazing to hear what people do with it.
Last I checked, but could be very very wrong, MicroSoc was offering libraries Publish and Read for essentially the same money they were spending on OA fees with them anyways. So it’s cost neutral but massively boosts OA compliance and access to great journals.
Our latest paper is out now. The brilliant Chris Connor’s entire PhD in one paper. And I hope a new avenue of research opened in MDR E. coli

Hi! New to BlueSky but I'm the Infection Biology Project Manager at the European Nucleotide Archive (ENA) at EMBL's European Bioinformatics Institute (EMBL-EBI). I work on all things relating to pathogen nucleotide data and metadata standards, plus coordinating dataflow. #HiSciSky #AcademicSky
