Saw Jorma Taccone’s OVER YOUR DEAD BODY, which is part WAR OF THE ROSES, part “what if STRAW DOGS was hilarious?”

Features maybe the best shotgun beheading of the decade.

If you’re in the Philadelphia area, I’m going to be interviewing Lloyd Kaufman this Friday, April 17th at Thrillerdelphia in Manayunk.

One lucky audience member will have their head crushed.

FINISHED: "Tribesmen" by @adamcesare.bsky.social www.goodreads.com/review/show/...

This is my first re-read of this great little meta #horror #book! I "what if an evil dead styled possession plot happened during the making of an Italian jungle cannibal movie?" is a hell of a pitch! It goes hard

ICYMI: Writer @adamcesare.bsky.social and artist David Stoll’s @darkhorse.com series Dead Mall is headed to the silver screen! A few years back, Adam Cesare and I spoke about the gripping and phenomenally nightmarish comic!

Have you read CLOWN IN A CORNFIELD 3: THE CHURCH OF FRENDO?

Well the book’s currently 6 ratings away from 666 ratings/reviews on Amazon.

You should leave one.

VS just did a nice 4k, but Shout had a Blu before that that I don’t think is too rare.

THE NESTING (1981), also known by the (better?) title PHOBIA, is an Upstate NY gothic about a writer that *feels* like an adaptation of an 80s horror novel, but isn’t.

Thanks to Variety (and Bloody and Fango) for announcing DEAD MALL is getting a movie adaptation.

Written by @michaelvarrati.bsky.social and produced by our friends at Not the Funeral Home.

If you don’t have the Dark Horse comic (art by @stollcomics.bsky.social), grab a copy (signed in my bio).

Japan in the 1970s really had blood figured out.

Blood splatter, blood spray, squibs… no era/world cinema has ever topped them.

No changes in plot. The text’s been overhauled pretty drastically between these three editions (Samhain being the first, then the Black T-Shirt Books edition, now this one with Union Square). This being the definitive “author’s preferred” text. Plus new intro by Stephen Graham Jones.

Shot on Super 8, 1989’s horror anthology THE BASEMENT has its ups and downs.

But few anthology segments go harder than this one: a Halloween take on A Christmas Carol where Scrooge is menaced by a witch, a demon, a mummy, and… a California Raisin.

It’s a new edition, with revised “author’s preferred” text, new cover, and foreword by @sgj.bsky.social. So not a new book, but will look, feel, and read nicer than ever before.

Killer supporting cast in both films. Reed’s a real bastard in TARGET, then Ian McShane has to out-bastard him. Glorious.
