So now the old fridge is in the yard (classy I know) and the new fridge won’t fit. Go back to <Redacted> find a fridge that is smaller in the critical dimensions. It is being delivered on Sunday… between the hours of 7am and 9pm.

Scheduled delivery for Friday morning. Got delivery Friday afternoon. Fortunately my entire family is self employed so we didn’t have any trouble getting the day off… but any day we don’t work we loose $$.

They get here. It’s too big. It won’t have enough clearance. Nope we won’t deliver it.

It’s also required that all doors must leave at least an inch clearance in all directions at all times during the delivery.

I’m sure the stock price went up because labor cost went down with all of this. That’s great. Except it’s really not.

We bought a refrigerator on Wednesday of last week.

Expensive. No they use these strap things that the one time I tried felt like a one way ticket to a permanent back injury.

They also require that the old unit be entirely removed from the house beforehand so they don’t have to waste any of their precious time or energy with that or it’s a $50 fee

For all deliveries- and deliveries are now done by an outside contractor out of… I’m not sure where. All coordinated customer side through <redacted> and employee side through a dispatcher.

Apparently hand trucks despite having been invented in the 1700s and perfected through current day are too

I’m grumpy tonight. Why am I grumpy?

Because a certain unnamed home improvement company I used to work for has bitten the enshittification hand hard.

Used to be in the old days delivery on appliances was free if you bought an appliance and $79 if you didn’t. That’s gone.

Now- they charge $30

Over 3 days. Ran through most of a box of business cards.

I’m ok. We’re ok. Things have just been really tough.

My dad felt ill Thursday night. I went to the trade show alone Friday. When he didn’t feel better Saturday morning he went to the ER. It was discovered he had a bowel blockage. He just got out of the hospital this past Monday. I worked the whole trade show solo. Probably spoke to 2,000 people

Ok. Things finally settled down a bit.

We geared up for a trade show that was the first weekend in February. Had a triple booth. My folks and I were going to work all weekend out of town. Featuring E waste, paper art, and stamps and ephemera.

I cannot think of a piece of technology I dislike more than your standard printer. If you aren’t printing daily or at least weekly it’s just easier to not own one.

I’m still here. Still writing. Tonight was a search warrant and return and an incident report (all fictional) for my project.
