Worse than the ‘85 Bears’ destruction of the hapless Tony Eason Patriots? Only people younger than 18 would believe this.
The charter in question happened in 2022 under Biden and without the knowledge of the team (planes are normally put in a pool in the offseason managed by a third party). There are plenty of reasons to root for Seattle. This is not one.
This is false. The plane was used in June 2022 (under Biden) to deport aliens to Honduras, not under Trump. That charter was made by the plane’s then 3d party pool charter operator. That operator no longer manages the plane. Being anti-MAGA is laudable. Being reckless with facts is not.
Shouldn’t you be on X?
Then I guess there is no need to play the game
Funny guy
Peyton Tolle is looking just fine!
The same two outfielders responded in the 9th. Gotta love baseball!
The Blue Jays can stop that from happening. But I love this young Sox team. They are just getting started!
The Red Sox traded a top-15 hitter and got no immediate help back. That salary relief needs to be spent on quality players, not a couple of Rhys Hoskins types.
Protectionism is the gateway for crony capitalism. Companies will request protection or benefit if that serves shareholders. Large corporations will “bend the knee”, joining media companies, large large firms, and universities. Trump gets more control over board rooms and maintaining power.
Duran is older (28?); his violent playing style is great to watch — but maybe not good for his longevity. I think that is why he has not been signed to an early long term deal. And I agree: he will be moved to center when Anthony is ready.
I would be interested to learn whether the ownership group is led by private equity funds, rather Chisholm the individual. If it’s a fund that owns, it has a limited life and must sell before its life ends. I am sure the NBA has addressed this issue in the past, but this to me is the key question.
That was my initial reaction also. But given their reported emphasis on culture, why would they have brought him in? Josh McDaniels’s brother coached him last year with the Texans, so it’s hard to imagine he would be in Foxboro if he had disrupted the young receiver room in Houston.
I watched it on WHDH.
Archie Bunker: “What’s the point of a man working hard all his life, trying to get someplace, if all he’s gonna do is wind up equal?!”
Blue states pay the majority of federal taxes. It cannot be a one way street.
Like everyone, I am perplexed by the non-signing of a RH DH. Not a Bregman buyer at this stage of his career (per his numbers), but I would take the deal IF Devers agreed to move off 3B and they adjusted the roster. Otherwise, we will never see the kids, who may not be ready now but will be soon.
It will come. Most needed a break after exhausting themselves last year and being grievously disappointed in the decision. Right now, they are licking their wounds. The wounds will heal, the lessons will be learned, and a new coalition will form around a new candidate in time.
Why Wolf? 1) ensure Wolf has graceful bridge to his next gig b/c of Ron Wolf standing with HoF, 2) fairness—allow him one full off-season to show what he can do, w/o deferring to non-football folk, 3) money—cost of replacements, AND/OR 4) necessity—need his reports and system for the draft. Which?
Krafts want to 1) ensure Wolf has graceful bridge to his next gig b/c of Ron Wolf standing with HoF, 2) fairness—allow him one full off-season to show what he can do, w/o deferring to non-football folk, 3) money—cost of replacements, AND/OR 4) necessity—need his reports and system for the draft?
The Krafts are relieved. Apparently, their post-Brady nightmare is over. Now they will slink behind the curtain and leave Vrabel to the mob. Not so fast. Their many missteps were not minor lapses in judgment, but the actions of cloistered, insecure patriarchs. They have far more work to do.
I have no problem with the punishment. It’s proportionate to the situation in which the interference occurred. If you don’t agree with it, be specific as to why. Expressing outrage and a lifelong band is not enough.
Another rapier sharp column. Network sportscasters used to refer to the “three legs of the stool” in describing the reasons for the dynasty. What a joke. There was only one leg — and a large stone — and always that hand reaching for the mike. Not one good decision since 1999. And they know it.
I hope the rumors of the Krafts wanting to quickly conclude this search — despite Robert saying they would speak with anyone that could help the team — are not true. Interview Vrabel on Thursday but keep talking to people. They will learn so much. They have not done this since the 90s.
No one who closely followed the team can rationally come to this conclusion. It was not Mayo’s fault he was put in a position to fail. He was promoted without earning the job, and he was not ready. This was on the Krafts, not Mayo. I hope Mayo keeps at it. He will be a good HC one day.
He deserves to be fired far more than Mayo did. (Both should go, IMO). His drafts over four seasons — partially or wholly under his control — created the conditions ensuring Mayo would fail. He is more responsible than anyone (other than Kraft) for Mayo’s failure.
There is no way Vrabel or any other quality HC candidate will take the job with wolf and Company in position
I think they will interview Ben Johnson. They must, and they know they must. One of the biggest mistakes they made, as you point out, was not having a real research last year. They will not repeat it.
