And that in essence is why people complain about the cost of living & it's virtually unfixable

A bit more Clannad with Legend, I think it's fair to say their music took the show to another level, the album stands up in its right as well providing a magical soundtrack
#NP Fuaim - Clannad, amazing how Harry's Game could lead a 16 year old me deeply into synth pop & electronic music to listen to something like & not only that learn all the words to Lish Young Buy A Broom off by heart!
Fantastic night @justdroppedin.bsky.social with Project Overload @sisterraydavies.bsky.social & Winter McQuinn
Playing a bit of Clannad tonight for obvious reasons, starting with Macalla, all a bit too Fleetwood Mac for me, in fact I bailed at this point, but it does include my favourite song of theirs, the exquisite Buachaill Ón Éirne
Continuing my Bill Nelson journey with David Sylvian's Gone to Earth on which he features on several tracks. Whilst I love Japan, dare I say it I always found Sylvian's solo stuff a bit dull, but this is nice enough for a Sunday morning.
It wouldn't be Easter without Jason & The Argonauts
Continuing my journey through #BillNelson's back catalogue with this gem from Masami Tsuchiya who provided guitar on Japan's last tour. Bill's all over this but he's in good company, it's quite the cast list.
Nope, thank goodness for Spotify. Shame as both tapes had instrumental albums on the b sides
Continuing with the Bill Nelson theme #NP the wonderful Love That Whirls. Let's hope this one favours better than the last cassette that jammed at the end of side 2
Saw a bit of a discussion about this on Facebook so thought I'd dig it out. Cracking album played it to death when I got it about 40 years ago 😬. God, cassettes are rubbish though but at least it was wound onto the right side for a change! #NP Quit Dreaming - Bill Nelson.
Might as well go the whole hog since I've started #NP Speak & Spell @depechemode.com
This one can't be too far behind, the first 7" I bought & another cracking b side, boring plain cover sadly #NP New Life @depechemode.com
45 years old this week & still one of the greatest b sides ever, especially from a debut! #NP Dreaming of Me @depechemode.com
Few days off the week so starting the day with another Berlin School classic from Michael Hoenig #NP Departures from the Northern Wasteland, lovely stuff!
This morning's coffee tunes supplied by Manuel Gottsching & Micheal Hoenig, #NP Early Water. Given the sparsity of the latter's discography there must be some wonderful analogue synth goodies waiting to be discovered in his archives.
Can't talk about electronic music albums celebrating their 50th this year without mentioning perhaps the daddy of them all #NP Oxygene @jeanmicheljarre.bsky.social, leant heavily on Rubycon, Timewind & maybe a bit of Vangelis but took them in a more commercial direction to spectacular effect.
This morning's coffee accompanied by another Berlin School classic turning 50 this year #NP Macula Transfer - Edgar Froese
Fantastic night #crossingdigbeth #moseleyfolk wonderful sets from #BretherenSound #JanelWeaver & #MidlakeBand & what a superb venue, amazing it isn't used more
Another Berlin School classic celebrating its 50th this year #NP Moondawn - Klaus Schulze
Had to be done, #NP Chandra by Tangerine Dream, a bit more relaxing than today's storm!
Some classic 90s ambience with this morning's coffee #NP Dreamfish - Pete Namlook & @mixmastermorris.bsky.social
Pleasant surprise to have localish heroes The Rude Awakening supporting as well
First gig of the year & have to say I was a bit apprehensive but #MarkShaw & #ThenJerico absolutely smashed it! Brilliant show
RIP to a San Francisco legend 🕊️ Founding member of the Grateful Dead and Dead & Company, Bob Weir, has died at the age of 78.
Dead & Co’s 3-day 60th anniversary celebration in Golden Gate Park were his final shows.
From chilly Sutton Coldfield
Final Bowie selection before the football #NP Live Santa Monica from the rather nice Five Years box
I was also a late convert, although always a casual fan and therefore really like his later albums
I have absolutely no intention of leaving the house again today, so if I can't go to the Outside... #NPDavidBowie
Great band, my brother is friends with their drummer. Only time I saw them was an early set at Glastonbury 92(?), came out & shared their rider with us. Carnage ensued.
