I am thrilled to announce that my monograph, Skipping Sundays, is now available for presale. Edition of 250.
Every monograph includes a back pocket that holds a vintage-style church fan, a calendar, a bookmark, and a nostalgic "We Missed You" Sunday school postcard.

Run, 2025
A vivid memory I have of church is the ritual of dressing up for it. This was the one day each week when I had to wear pantyhose. They were delicate; a simple pull could cause them to run. This fragility reminds me of faith and how easily it ebbs and flows throughout our lifetime.
Tomorrow night join me at the Gately Gallery in Florence SC for presentations, a panel discussion and book signing! This is the last day to see the Blue exhibit.
By A Thread
It’s challenging not to be overwhelmed by the news but I believe that art is more important now than ever. My series, Skipping Sundays, explores the complexities of faith. The title By A Thread seems to resonate with many aspects of life right now. It feels like we are just hanging on.
My photograph, Don’t Worry Spring Is Coming, is part of the Nasher Museum exhibition Climate Hope: Photographic Works from the Nasher Collection on display in the Academic Focus Gallery until June.
Tomorrow!!
The photograph “Puzzle” in the latest edition of Mockingbird Magazine.
I’m now on @fotoapp.co It kind of reminds me of the old Flickr days with no ads just photos. I don’t think it will replace Instagram anytime soon but giving it a try as a Meta alternative. Let’s connect if you are on there.
"Your Guess Is As Good As Mine" from my ongoing series "Skipping Sundays" Inspired by the lyrics of an old Coldplay song called “God Put A Smile Upon Your Face” that popped up on my Spotify recently. #heatherevanssmith #skippingsundays #heatherevanssmithskippingsundays #yourguessisasgoodasmine

If you are going to a portfolio review, this is the book to get! Honored to be apart of it. Both Sides Of The Table by RIT press features great insight by reviewers and reviewees. Thanks Debe Arlook and Eric T. Kunsman for bringing this book into the world.
Yesterday, I had the pleasure of being a reviewer and presenter at ECU’s Student Portfolio Throwdown. This event is such a fantastic day for students who want to dive into engaging workshops, get feedback on their work, and listen to presentations from photographers across the Southeast
Thrilled to see images from my Blue series in the Feb/March issue of Aesthetica Magazine. 💙💙💙 #aestheticamagazine

Hey guys. I have some new followers thanks to @flakphoto.news featuring my image Curl. This image is part of my Alterations series, about memories of my granny who was a seamstress in a department store during the 70s/80s. It was inspired by my favorite photo of us together.
Behind the scenes for how I made the image Assimilate for my Skipping Sundays series. Sometimes a piece of plywood and a window is all you need.
My work was just added to the Dear Dave Fellowship 2024 archive. Take a look at some really stellar work at the link.
