There are a lot of countries that allow birthright citizenship, but there is only one stupid enough to make you president.

I empathize with the problem— age verification isn’t the solution. Need a tech consultant? I’m happy to help.

A snippet from Wikipedia’s take on AI slop in articles with highlights over the words that define the line between LLMs as tools and as slop machines 🎰 generated articles. Editors' position, as well as the position of the Wikimedia Foundation, has been to not make blanket rules against AI because Wikipedia already uses some forms of automation, and because AI tools could assist editors in the future. The new policy doesn't ban the use of other automated tools that are already in use or future implementations, but it does show the Wikipedia community is less optimistic about the benefit of AI-generated content, and taking a stand against it.
I think Wikipedia found the line between LLMs as tools vs LLMs for wasteful slop. With the shutting down of Sora and firm statements by the folks @wikipedia.org I feel a smidge of hope that we’re starting to pass the fascination with slop phase— I don’t want to read gen-facts, prose, or poems.

After missing its recruitment goals, the U.S. Army is now raising its max enlistment age to 42 and removing its waiver requirement for a single marijuana possession.
Gosh... if only thousands of highly qualified trans soldiers hadn't been kicked out last year for no good reason.
Leading Report on Twitter writes: "BREAKING: U.S. Army is increasing the maximum enlistment age from 34 to 42."
Here are 5 menswear outfits to make recruitment officers think you're 43 🧵
Photo by Nachelle Nocom. A cityscape at dusk captures an elevated train winding through wet streets, its headlights glowing against the tracks. The urban scene is mirrored on the glass facade of a nearby building, doubling the trains, lights, and pedestrians below. Reflections blur into streaks of golden light, contrasting with the cool tones of the damp pavement. A sense of movement and stillness coexist in the heart of the metropolis.
The more order we build, the deeper chaos grows. That is the fate of the city.
Photo by Aline de Nadai. A person stands alone on a wet wooden deck, holding a large red umbrella that shields them from the falling rain. Their face is hidden, and only their lower body is visible, dressed in long, patterned pants. Droplets bounce off the umbrella and glisten in the dim light. The background is dark and blurred with lush green foliage, adding depth and contrast to the scene.
When rain, an umbrella, and thoughts meet, a moment belongs to us.
