During his 1988 Presidential campaign, I saw Jesse Jackson speak to a crowd at MCC in Minneapolis. It was very rare at the time for a national candidate to court gay/lesbian voters. It was an inspiring moment.

Why do these people keep acting like "Antifa" is some kind of formal organization?
Maybe this was already challenged in court?
@govpritzker.illinois.gov The border enforcement zone is 100 mi from the international borders. Why are the maps calling the shore of Lake Michigan an international border? Lake Michigan is entirely within the US. Logically, nowhere in Illinois should be considered part of the border region.

I signed up for the #PBS passport, happy to support the organization. I'm somewhat disappointed that none of the classical music content is on there. No Great Performances at the Met. No Live From Lincoln Center.

Somebody, please convince me we're not about to be targeted by massive hacks and other hybrid warfare tactics.
This new novel is written by a wonderful friend of mine. I'm looking forward to reading it. Midnight at the Cinema Palace www.goodreads.com/book/show/22...

I went to a private liberal arts college that was (and is) very liberal politically. I am 100% behind Harvard's objection to the administration's intervention based on ideology. #macalester #harvard

I'd like to see an analysis of this week's events through the lens of the 1999 Seattle WTO protesters. Have you seen such a thing?
Some years ago, I heard the Chicago Symphony perform her work "In the Shadow of the Tree". Half the orchestra is tuned down a quarter tone, which produces a quite interesting effect.
I love this series, and I am looking forward to a new story
I'm pretty sure I just heard the arc of the moral universe saying "Ouch! It doesn't bend that way!"
This is so obvious, but I'm going to say it anyway:
Putin is not our friend. He is not a trustworthy partner.
Nothing good will come of tossing out existing allies to help him.
My good friend from college has a book coming out soon. Midnight at the Cinema Palace www.goodreads.com/book/show/22...
So maybe the opposition in the US shouldn't compare the administration to monarchy? I feel like modern monarchy is either romanticized or seen as toothless. If you want to convey scary, maybe go for "dictator".
A "flax egg" works beautifully for most cookies, muffin & quick bread recipes. 1 Tbsp of ground flax seed + 3 Tbsp of warm/hot water. Leave it to hydrate/gel for 10 minutes. #noegg #veganbaking
Do these orgs just assume any repertoire is unfamiliar to the audience, so why bother?

Is there a nickname for the book community on here?
Bluebook is something else entirely. Booksky sounds awkward.
Finished A Memory Called Empire by @byzantienne.bsky.social and loved it. Definitely picking up the next one.
Reading through that list of executive orders was harrowing
The new Wallace & Gromit film is delightful. They all have been, so this is no surprise.
