ZOHRAN: “TBH, I don’t think too much about how Republicans portray me. The power of an ideology is judged in the worth of its delivery— to be told a city-run grocery store is implausible but $500 MILLION/day to kill ppl in Iran & Lebanon is necessary speaks to a broken politics.”
The fact that Mamdani just seems like a cheerful normal guy who's policies are things like "we're going to tax second homes to fund pothole repairs" or whatever and yet this generates panicked responses like "This is basically Stalin's great purge turned up to eleven" is... telling. It tells things.
Caitlyn never thought…🐆
I have absolutely no insider information, but if Anthropic doesn't launch a ClaudeBook laptop in the next two years, I'll eat a piece of paper that says, "Jack was wrong about Anthropic launching a laptop."
Many people are saying that JD is quite ignorant about the history of religion in Europe and the Middle East but that overlooks his expertise on the ottomans.
Clavicular is a 20 year old child and famous for no good reason, not due to any particular celebration-worthy talent. He is a victim of a form of mental illness that is exacerbated by attention. However, if I come up with a good joke about him, I will post it.
Tony Gonzales, a Texas Congressman, Says He Will Resign The third term Republican lawmaker is accused of coercing a staff member into a sexual relationship.

Whether it's Pete Hegseth being a white nationalist alcoholic sexual predator with a fetish for violence or Lloyd Austin being Black, the two most recent secretaries of defense have alienated segments of the American public.
Hall of fame FT correction
Not the first to make this observation, but Mamdani's political superpower basically seems to be that he is happy and enjoys life.
If the metric is 100% then ooo boy do I have some news for you about humans

i'm sorry but the moon is a complete boondoggle that should never have been put up there in the first place. we still have to send repair missions up there a hundred-plus years later all because taft was trailing in the polls and decided to learn magick. i don't know why he thought it would help him

America did not meet the universal adult suffrage criteria of democratic governance until 1965. Gatorade is the exact same age as American democracy.

The courts have said the government can't regulate algorithmic feeds, because of the First Amendment (I agree with this).
A court just found Facebook liable for decisions they made regarding their algorithmic feeds.
So, evidence says otherwise.
Laws are just words, man.
Let's say the developer specifically coded their website so that the user you were harassing saw your posts, no matter what they did, several dozen times per day.
There is evidence they specifically targeted you, and specifically understood what that harassment was doing to you.
What then?
There's all sort of stuff that you can sue over that's protected by the First Amendment.
For instance, apparently, product decisions.
They should be able sue.
I don't know if they should be able to win.
Sadly, I'm not lawyer.
You should absolutely be able to write a book telling kids to murder everyone. That should be protected by the First Amendment.
But people should be able to sue to you, and it should be possible for you to be held liable, if it turns you knew it would work and didn't care.
You're allowed to tell people to kill themselves and show them videos explaining why they're worthless and why they should kill themselves and no one can sue you when someone actually does kill themselves because speech.
Got it.
Some of the code delivers speech to the end user. Some of it shows them ads. Some of it decides to show teenagers videos on how ugly they are and encourages them to starve themselves.
Code does a lot of things.
I thought social media companies weren't supposed to help the government. I was told that was bad.
