Some of these obscure ones often are. If they weren't backed by a license or an arcade conversion they really had to make their mark with the gameplay.
I love the name at least, haha.
Thanks so much for this. Always great to see people celebrating that era of mags. I have even better news for your followers, we're actually out bi-monthly these days and work on our monster issue 31 starts next week.
Who remembers 80s/90s video gaming magazines? And do you miss them? ๐ฎ๐น๏ธ ... Having a great time going through this stack of vintage ZZap!64 magazines that my dad bought for me, knowing my retro obsession! ๐ ... Which ones did you buy back in the day, C&VG, Nintendo Power or something else? (cont...)
Awwwful news. The Demon's Souls remake was so well done. I fear a really talented studio have been canned because they were badly mis-handled. As others have said, if they'd have pivoted to a Bloodborne remake, they'd be printing cash about now.
Any extra art always helps dude. Just send me a DM when it's out. :)
You'll have me reaching for the rich teas next, haha.
Sometimes all you want is a simple but moreish puzzle mechanic and a banging chip tune. :)
That is outrageously charming. ๐ Don't cross the..... SID's?
Top tier stuff mate. I'm already keen to start carving up those sprites for the review, haha. Seriously though, when the games look this good, you do half my job for me. Looking forward to playing it, loved the first one.
A devilish little game! There was always something charming about the Hunchback sprite though and his urgent little walking animation.
This was tricky to get started with but when you got a proper sense of the turning, it was very moreish.
Never has a congratulations screen, seemed so far away, haha.
#C64 #Kouyate #RPG progress: not been feeling so good about life recently, so progress has been a bit slow. Still, been working on shop interiors for the Dwarven mines, so here's what I have so far. Also added a few secret areas... I'll say no more...
Working on that #c64 palette

Haha, that's really neat.

ZZAP 64 Christmas greeting poster.
As another year winds down, the ZZAP! 64 team want to thank every one of our readers for their support this past year. A very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year to you. Plenty more to come so stay tuned. ๐
You love to see it. ๐ Any excuse for another run through of A Pig Quest.
So how many of you will have a C64 Ultimate under the tree this year? You could hang the damn thing in the tree and it wouldn't look out of place, haha.
Timing the woman's jumps used to kill me. ๐คฃ I'd constantly be off by a pixel or two. Still it was quite moreish. It's one of those games I keep meaning to finish one day!
Yeah, I enjoyed this one. The character swapping was quite unique back then, plus who could resist the joy of headbutting all the computer monitors?!? ๐คฃ
Who else is excited to play Leisure Suit Larry on the C64? The demo is showing a lot of promise and looks incredible. Fantastic work from Retro Bytes.

I have this same mind set with games, films and music. If I enjoy something, I always want to own a physical copy of it. I never feel fully at peace enjoying it without having something tangible to hold.
