A total joy or should that be Goody? of an episode. Fresh for your ears here: podfollow.com/through-the-...
Our new episode is out today (link in the first reply) featuring
@samiraahmeduk.bsky.social and @gkw.bsky.social's epic interview with Graeme Garden. The conversation covers The Goodies, Star Turn, Twice a Fortnight, Bodymatters, The Adventure Game, Engelbert Humperdinck and much more!
There’s no jeopardy if every result is perfect.
It’s to Australian Survivor’s credit that they haven’t tried to contrive that this top four are the four best-performing players in the series. I think none of them have had a winner’s edit and consequently I have no idea who will win.
"They call him the Doctor". Been a while but I've collaborated with my brother @jackkibble-white.bsky.social on a new BF trailer.
Actually I think @regretteruane.bsky.social has just nailed this (we have been talking). You wouldn’t write a skit where Freddie Mercury jumps on Gizzard Puke - and therein lies the difference between the two.
I think you and @gkw.bsky.social needed to thrash this out in extensive fashion on a future episode
The confusion for me I suppose is that his name does seem a play on punk names, in particular Sid Vicious.
Enjoy your honeymoon!
Yeah you’re right. Also she probably feels more able to play hard and take big swings as she (and Simon) now have the perspective of having had to live with their previous shortcomings. That’s given them perspective and a realisation that they don’t want to live to regret the things they didn’t do.
I do not recall Brooke being at anything close to this level in terms of strategy and reads when she previously played. The disinhibition of believing she’s definitely going has been great for her, but tbh she’s been impressive all season long
I very much enjoyed the Kenny Koverage over the last two episodes, but few there is one fundamental question that hasn’t been addressed: what was the functional difference between Sid Snot and Gizzard Puke?
This was the best week for this series by some distance
Through the Square Window episode 7 is out now - wherever you get your podcasts. @samiraahmeduk.bsky.social and @gkw.bsky.social looking at programmes from March 1979: #Blakes7, Man Alive, Star Signs (with Michael Aspel, Joanna Lumley and Peter Cook) and The Kenny Everett Video Show.
I find it soporific
I really enjoyed this. Lovely to read some new Ian Jones TV writing
Next Wednesday, @samiraahmeduk.bsky.social and @gkw.bsky.social return with a new episode of Through the Square Window (wherever you get your podcasts) looking at shows from February 1969. First up is...

I bought this today in a charity shop. A signed copy! And am reminded that for years I thought the lead singer of the band was Keith Barron

Sadly this is outside of my remit, I’m afraid, but you could try and contact the Repair Shop production team. With Doctor Who currently off air though it might not be the best time
