Why Dems need an ambitious plan for structural changes (Courts, DC Statehood, Constitutional Amendments on pardons, DOJ, and stronger Article 1 where they can get the 2/3rds with Repubs) for January 2029.
Once in a lifetime opportunity to improve the Constitutional order if they take it.
Gonna spend the next two years spamming every elected Dem about the concept of "damnatio memoriae." Chisel his name off every inscription. Build over the various Trump Towers like they're Nero's Golden House. Remove him from physical memory, not to forget but as a sign of disrespect to the man.
“The United States is being murdered, and it’s an inside job. Every department, every branch, every bureau and function of the federal government is being fatally corrupted or altogether dismantled or disabled.”
Truer words have not been spoken.

"accuse him of trying to buy?"
What else would you Steyer spending 100+ million to browbeat California into letting him jump the line into an unearned position of power?
Do Better.

If this weren't so horrifying, the idea of the Palantir dweebs as the standard-bearers for a "culture producing vital advances" would be beyond fucking hilarious
i will keep reiterating it but the mRNA vaccine is one of the most important human inventions in history, next to the printing press and the solar panel, and the fact america is abandoning it is frankly anti-human in all ways possible
First good mitigation of the nightmare that has become of the Supreme Court's corrupt power. The premise is to have the judges for each case be chosen, by lottery, in this case a panel chosen from all the federal judges. (This is how appeals courts work now.)

John Roberts’ Wife Made Millions From Bribes
Roberts accepted $10 Million in bribes disguised as recruiting fees from Law firms with cases pending before the Supreme Court.

I keep screaming this
Please don’t fall for it California, Uber already fucked us once with Prop 22
The next President will be the Dem candidate that promises to claw back all the money Trump has stolen from us with interest.
Jon Ossoff didn't sugarcoat it.
"While you pay more for everything, the first family's wealth is growing by billions. Because they're crooks.
And everybody knows it." 💯

CALIFORNIA: Those scare ads for legislation limiting medical settlements that quote the LA Times are paid for by Uber because they want to limit how much they can be sued for when they hit you with their cars. calmatters.org/economy/2026...

It would also use Congress’ power under Article 3 to limit SCOTUS’ appellate jurisdiction and move much of that to a randomly selected panel of Senior Circuit court judges. In combination, that would effectively eliminate SCOTUS’ ability to act as a political, rather than judicial entity.
This is a classic Trumpian plan. Wreck something good, make a big mess, complain a lot, find some solution to fix the problem he created, then go around crowing that's he's the hero and everyone should praise him for it.
Right out in the open, Donald Trump is suing his own IRS to try to steal $10 BILLION taxpayer dollars.
I just introduced a bill that would make this theft ILLEGAL.
Every Dem presidential candidate better be promising a claw-back of any potential settlement payment plus interest and criminal investigation of every DOJ employee involved.
Any "built-in" Gen X change has been exacerbated by income inequality, the winner-take-all economy, and the near-approbation of white collar crime.
So many people my age seem to have fallen into this "get mine" cynicism. I don't think earlier generations saw attitude shifts this big.
This #TaxDay, just remember you can't file for free directly with the IRS this year because Donald Trump and the GOP killed Biden's program after taking bribes from H&R Block and TurboTax.
Anyone who road trips in the State also knows there are vast stretches with de-populated towns that people have no interest in living in and are incredibly cheap even today.
Up-leveling the economy in those areas is a tricky problem, but it can be addressed (Merced following UC Merced investment).
I hope you guys have a Constitutional Amendment drafted and ready for 2029. At a minimum, no pardons for:
1. Executive branch political appointees
2. Immediate family members of President or VP
3. Any agent of the President or VP or an entity in which they are a 5%+ owner
This whiteboard should be in every hospital boardroom in America.
This isn’t a leadership crisis. It’s an ownership crisis.

If you truly believe, as I do, that this Republican Party is a real threat to democracy & the rule of law, then yes, you GOTTA vote blue no matter who.”
None of this is ancient history; it's not being raised as a gotcha. This is the actual record of how Xavier Becerra used the power of the Attorney General's office, and progressives in California are entitled to weigh that record honestly before deciding who deserves their support for governor.
Yep, it's equivalent to the local small-town millionaire worrying about the influence of someone with $12k to their name.
He'd be better off becoming virulently anti-Trump. By 2028 that is the only Repub who will have a chance.
